If you have purchased all of your firearms within your state of residence from an individual (and so didn't have to go through an FFL Dealer, and if you purchase all of your ammunition with cash (and never put it on a charge card), and if you do not have a Firearms Owner I.D. Card or a Concealed Weapons Permit, then you would be wise to keep your mouth shut.
The rest of us are already on Obama's "Christmas List" (as Klinton called it).
If you contribute to the National Rifle Association, or if you take a Charitable Tax Deduction for Tithing to a Fundamentalist Church, or give to a listed "Hate" Group (like the American Family Association, or if you are Retired Police or Military, then your Goose is pretty-much in the oven with the rest of us.
By the way................the Post Office photographs EVERY piece of mail that it processes. So if you have ever sent mail to (or received mail from) any of the above organizations or Joyce Meyer, or Kenneth Copeland, or Jimmy Swagart, or the 700 Club, or any other "Hate" Group, they know about it.
Oh, and let's include having ever made a purchase from Midway USA, Gander Mountain, Cabella's, Sportsman's Guide, or Widener's.

Said it before, and I'll say it again. If we cower in the shadows then they've already won. We need to stand strong together and say, "If you want my guns, come and take them!"

Merry Christmas to ME!!!!

Finally "pulled the trigger" on buying an MSR. It's a Palmetto State Armory rifle made here in South Carolina. My oldest son, Phillip Jr, is loving it!

Nice looking Rig!!!
What kind-of optics to you have on it?
The weather looks like the same as what Chris is currently enjoying
(I just spoke with my mother in Wisconsin. She said that it was 16 degrees below zero -actual temp.)

-16 is a bit excessive.... which is THE reason I live down south!
I got a Vortex Strikefire red/green dot sight. It's non magnified for quick both eyes open target acquisition in close range situations. I also want to get the flip up iron sites for if/when the batteries ever die.

Yes, the boys were trained quite strictly on gun safety. Jr is very militarily minded. In fact one of his presents this morning was a real military helmet from the Army-Navy store (I think Italian or something).
I wasn't sure about the Olive Drab when he first showed it to me, but then it grew on me. I haven't seen a lot of other OD models out there and I like to be different. Also, it has some coating (I can't remember what he said) that will accept paint if I decide to camo it.
It was $1099. Makes working 6-7 days a week a little more bearable. (Although I hope not to have to do that much longer)

Went out of town to visit my wife's family this week and couldn't leave my newest addition. It's a lot easier toting a guitar case through a hotel lobby. Nobody even gives a second look.
My wife rolled her eyes and said "That's why I heart you..."

I looked at the photograph before I read the caption.
I was just about to compliment your wife's housekeeping, by saying, "Ooh. She makes such a nice bed, with the Hospital Collar and everything....."

That would be some kind of carpet in in the house too!
I once wired a house for a gentleman who got a couple surplus rolls of movie theater carpet after the construction of it... THAT was interesting! It was a black base with colorful streamers and confetti. That was wild...

Re: New Tactical Rifle Smith & Wesson M&P AR-15 (open MSR topic)
I think that there are three factors in the recent of some tactical ammunition:
#1. Some folks have established what they consider a comfortable stock of ammunition after the recent shortages.
#2. Manufacturers have been reported to working around the clock, and may be starting to catch up, at least in part.
#3. Over the past 2 or 3 months, many have needed to use their extra income for Christmas.
I think that, now that Obama has been "slapped in the chops" by Congress refusing additional Firearms Restrictions, many gun owners may be feeling slightly more secure (I hope that it is warranted).

I got a surprise belated Christmas gift a 3 pt Blackhawk sling. Made in Vietnam. Ironic they produce AR slings for a weapon first used against them as an M16.

Re: New Tactical Rifle Smith & Wesson M&P AR-15 (open MSR topic)
Here's a shot of me sporting the new sling. Only issue I may have is lack of a front sling swivel. So far my tight velcro job around the forearm seems to be holding. The salesaman at Gander suggested getting a quadrail from Troy Industries for a 7" carbine like mine. Then I can add rail mounted sling swivel. He offered to install it there if I bring it in. For a $150 I can upgrade the forearm for several attachments.

Looks good.
Main thing with a front-wearing "ready-sling" is to make sure that it doesn't obstruct the front sight when you bring it up.
It looks like you have that taken care of, though.
