FYI on carrying inside the waistband: It's not very good when crawling around under a house. I had to look at a job this morning and it kept working it's way out. Luckily it was dark under the house, so the other guy didn't see me readjusting...

"It's a running joke between Dan & I"
OK, sorry to be a “snoot”, but as a former English Major, this always irks me.
It is not always wrong to say “xxxx and me”.
If you are the object (receiver) then it is “Dan and me.”
If it is part of the subject doing the action, then it is “Dan and I”.
To simplify it, if you drop the name of the other person, see if it sounds awkward (I’m going to take license to modify your sentence a bit):
“It had been a joke aimed at Dan and I” (Wrong. Drop Dan’s name and see how awkward it is.)
“It had been a joke aimed at I” (That is not correct)
“It had been a joke aimed at Dan and me” (Correct)
“It had been a joke aimed at me” (Correct)
“Dan and me went to the shooting range” (Wrong. Drop Dan’s name and see how awkward it is.)
“Me went to the shooting range” (Wrong, unless you are Cookie Monster.)
“Dan and I went to the shooting range” (Correct)
“I went to the shooting range.” (Correct)
And so concludes your English/Grammar lesson for today.

Why is the person from the "stupid South" being irked by the grammar mistakes of our Administrator from Michigan?
(Maybe he's been hanging around those Canucks too much.......
No, that would be, "Why for did you do dat what you just done did, dare?")

I am now!
I have even come to refer to the 1861-1865 war as "The Great War of Northern Aggression".

I agree it was. I was only picking on you southerners to get a rise. I love the south minus racism and slavery its where I'd move to. Wife and I have talked about Tennessee someday. If there is another, "War of Northern Aggression" I wanna be on that side.

If there is another war, I don't think the lines will be quite as cut and dried as the last one.

Re: NRA and Conceal Carry Weapon Permit (CCW/OC)
So true. I think the South may pick up some western and southwestern states.
My outpost councilman asked me to discuss the 2nd Amendment to the boys when I did a talk about guns Fri night. I gave them a lesson in what the constitution really says are the powers of States and Fed, 10th Amendment, and how British confiscation of guns and ammo precipitated the American Revolution. Explained how the Founders designed the government to have most of the power at the lowest levels.

Re: NRA and Conceal Carry Weapon Permit (CCW/OC)
Before PM service I dropped the wife off at Sam's Club while I went to Gander Mtn. I found a .270 ca, Savage bolt action with scope, all camo on stock and scope for $450. Ammo is more plentiful and affordable than .308. Oh it has a detachable mag too.
Claymore, is it true you can chamber a .270 round into a 30-06?

It depends on what your definition of CAN is........................................
You CAN pull the pin on a hand grenade and carry it in your pocket, but I wouldn't recommend it.
The 270 cartridge is a 30-06 which has been neck-sized down to accept the thinner, faster, .270 bullet.
Because it is the same case (squeezed down) it will GO IN. If shot, it would rattle down your 30-06 barrel (possibly causing damage), definately split the brass, and possibly give your rifle an unsafe pressure spike, because of a phenomenon having to do with gasses rushing past the bullet (which does not seal in the bore), creating a backpressure situation, and causing excessive chamber pressure.
BUT IF YOU DO TRY IT.........................
You will be easy to spot at the Camporamas. We will just look for the commander with the Savage bolt sticking out of his forehead.
