Don't delay! Act now! For only $33.99, you too can watch a livestream broadcast of Prince Harry this Saturday. A trauma expert will be counseling him live! Seriously, though, how warped is this? At least Senator Fetterman has the decency to keep his mental illness treatment private, and isn't trying to cash in on it.

Back in the pre-social media days, and even back before television, how did the rich and mighty get their daily "self-worth fix?" They are clearly addicted to it today.

As a Service Member, the thing that really tears at me is that Harry was an AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter Pilot in the Iraq War, and my understanding is that he was admired by his fellow pilots as being an outstanding Aviator and Warrior.

And then for him to throw away all of that, and his standing in the United Kingdom, and to shame his family for money and publicity.....

just goes to show....

there's a Delilah, out there, waiting for every Samson.

Eight inches of snow overnight, followed by brilliant sunshine today. And I'm looking out my window at a herd of 50-60 elk that came down for the easier grass. His Creation is wonderful. Too bad we have to mess it all up with man's choices (aka, sin).

Well,
still working nights...but apparently not for much longer.
I got a call from the CEO on Thursday telling me that my job will end in 30 days. March 2023 Thread 2410941
36 people got the axe that day, which is roughly 60% of the company.
Only upside is that if I stay the full 30 days I will go out the door with 3 months pay.
They are giving me 1 weeks pay for every year I have worked for the company (which is 8 years)
Plus they will cash out all my unused vcation days, which amounts to 4 more weeks. March 2023 Thread 2170049002
Praise the LORD for that!

I have had the feeling now for about 6-7 weeks that they were going to get rid of me & sure enough it happened.

As hard as you work and your willingness to work whatever hours and whenever asked, I would have thought you'd never get laid off. Sounds like the company is in trouble, along with the rest of the economy. Biden's handlers are desperate to save all the big banks and their high-interest, high-rolling customers. Biden's handlers are desperate to get Trump arrested and back on the news 24-7, in order to keep eyes off of what they're doing. Biden's handlers have changed the definition of some classes of illegal aliens, so that they're not illegal aliens. That's how he can claim in recent weeks that the number of border crossers is going down. But it isn't. And the framework of our country continues to be overloaded by millions who enter our country each Biden year.

Biden's policies have not been sustainable since day one. And I thought leftists worshiped that word.

Other than trusting in God, I don't know what to do. It seems like any pro-active steps that we take will be check-mated by Biden's handlers who are forcing digital currency, censorship, and inflation on us. Living within our means isn't working for most Americans. Half of them are already paycheck-to-paycheck and have maxed out their credit cards. We're in for a tough couple of years.

Shoveling snow always gives me time to ponder...

Artificial intelligence has been making a lot of news as of late. Recently announced is an AI program that came up with a "cure" for a specific cancer. Of course, if a pharmaceutical company wants to go for it, they'll first have to test it for years to see if it really works.

The vast majority of AI programs are currently "garbage in - garbage out." Meaning, they're only as good/bad as the human programmers. As a result, most of what comes out is the result of someone's preconceived worldview. The most optimistic promoters of this technology claim that AI will eventually get to the point where it can actually learn and be able to think for itself, coming up with answers and conclusions that go beyond the limits of human bias.

So, let me posit this: Given access to all the facts from the past and present, what would AI say of our future? That we're doomed to be perennial victims of evil and misguided good intentions, to the endpoint of extinction? Or that Christianity is the logical step to take?

Hmm. Sounds like the beginning of a book for kids.

March 2023 Thread Empty Re: March 2023 Thread

Post by joecool March 25th 2023, 10:57 am

Last Wed evening, before leading the adult class, I reported on a news story, as I always do. This one had to do with the arrests of a woman in England...for praying silently outside an abortion clinic. This, despite being outside the "protected zone." She was found not guilty. And then Parliament went into overdrive, overwhelmingly passing a law making silent prayer illegal close to the zone. The day BEFORE the law was voted on, the same woman was arrested in the same spot outside the zone. The charge was for silent prayer, despite there being no law against it at the time.

One of the women in my class har-umphed and said the woman should have said her prayer in private within her home, instead of challenging the authorities. I bit my tongue and asked if anyone else had an opinion. No one rose to the occasion. So, as nicely as I could, I responded, "It's probably bigger than this. Is it possible that their authorities want to drive all Christians out of the public square? To ban their Christian witness?"

We need to wake up, because it's coming here, especially if the leftists retain power after the next election.

Close misses.

Amory is about 26 miles, due south. It took out the National Guard Armory, on the north side of Town.
