Just when we thought Spring had arrived...April Fool's! It's 14 degrees this morning, along with 6" of fresh snow.

Hello my friends.
Keeping busy delivering food. Feeling fortunate to still have a job. The Governor shut down most business & all the churches.
Although she seems to think herself Queen of Michigan Rolling Eyes the way she has been firing off executive orders to suspend laws & regulations, fining businesses (who she deems to be non essential) who dare to be open etc. Making herself quite unpopular in the process. Her Imperials majesty Queen Gretchen (Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer) just issued another order, banning: travel between 2 residences (including to a vacation home), funerals attended by more than 10 people, public or private gatherings of ANY number (No home church meetings) Stores from selling gardening supplies!

I've heard someone refer to her as "Half-Whit." You would think that most governors are focused on trying to ease restrictions, not intensify them.

Speaking of gardening supplies...It was 67 degrees yesterday and I was BBQ-ing. Today I've got 6 inches of snow and it's still coming down.

Well, don'tja know dat being in the sunlight by yourself, gardening, is your High-Risk Behavior, there.

Maybe she's afraid that some gardener is going to raise-up a Blooming Idiot that will be competition for her.

The Governor has really got a lot of folks mad. There was a HUGE protest at the capital earlier this week. Now there is recall petition going around to kick her out of office. She & the state are also facing 4 lawsuits regarding her violations of peoples civil rights.

Camporama is going to be rescheduled. Wilderness Merit Camp was remembered today as it could have been a lot of fun. I went back to work today after 5 weeks off. Hanging outside mainly. Using a mask and hand wash when around people. Tree's are blooming and lot's of work is going on in the construction industries. I ate a Quarter Pounder today and it was DELICISIOUS! Those FRIES were AWESOME! Ok... hunkering down will give one a new insight on things!

Have definitely enjoyed the reduced pace of life with this thing. We're wide open work wise because construction is going strong. As I've been saying, a construction site isn't much worse than being out in the woods. It's not as if you have to touch the same door knob as a bunch of other people like in an office environment. Also not enclosed with recirculated air all day. So we've been going strong.

In other news, bought a Wood-Mizer bandsaw mill today. I've been adding to my woodworking equipment over the past couple years and the sawmill seemed like the next logical step. Mr Green Have to drive down to Georgia sometime this week to pick it up from the dealer (too cheap to pay for shipping to my house), but the paperwork is done.

I enjoy watching the youtube videos on Bandsaw Mills. If I had some land with hardwood trees on it I would own one for sure and a tractor.

Anybody out there watching The Chosen on YouTube? It's the story of Jesus, with a lot of gaps creatively filled in. I've been wondering if the director is the son of the guy that wrote the Left Behind series.

Haven't seen that, but then again I don't end up having much time to watch anything. However, it sounds intriguing. What type of creativity are they adding into the life of Christ?

Mark, I have a friend with a very nice rig that I've helped out. Now he's retired with plenty of money, so his mill has all the bells and whistles. I just enjoy the process of turning something that some might cut up and throw into a burn pile into something useful, beautiful, or both. I don't have any hardwoods on my property that I'm going to cut, but because of my friend I do have leads on getting hardwoods by the ton straight from the loggers for pennies on the dollar vs already milled lumber. I do have plenty of Southern yellow pine that I'll drop in a minute to mill.

That's cool. The Mill I got to run in Alaska for a week didn't have any hydraulics on it. Just brute force. We did have a bob cat and log cants. Biggest beams were 18 foot long and 8x14 to the best of my memory. We milled up a bunch of 2x6 and 2x8 and 2x10 as well as 4x10 most 18 foot log. It was fun. Here is a picture of that mill.

Here is a link to my in Woodshop Bandsaw mill well 4' long logs. Makes pallets of good walnut and cedar and oak 1" thick boards. Oak has been a bit of a learning curve. It's all that 2hp bandsaw can do to turn that 11" Red Oak in to lumber. I have it on a winch and a sled.

Things like what Nicodemus may have gone through to be so open to Jesus; Matthew as a spit-upon tax collector; Hebrew jokes; Simon as a hot-headed schemer; Mary Magdalene's life prior to meeting Jesus...all tastefully done by excellent actors with great direction and film quality. If you don't get misty-eyed from time to time, well, you've missed the good news.

I like that sled for the bandsaw. Was noticing the rollers on the base that the sled glides on. That was a great idea to use those.

Yep. Jerry Jenkins is his Dad. And he's putting The Chosen into book form.

You might remember a bit of news I posted a month or so ago about Jim Bakker (the former AG televangelist who went to jail). A couple of states' Attorneys General were ordering him to stop selling COVID snake oil.

As it turns out, credit card companies cut off his access. And now he's pleading with his fans to send him cash or checks so he doesn't go bankrupt. Not much sympathy here. Ye reap what ye sow.
