Where's the pictures? And while we're on the subject of pictures, are you ever gonna post an avatar?

Tonight was camp week kickoff. Kids from all over the States will be converging on Camp Blessing. Not quite camporama but it draw in some long distance campers.

Re: July Greetings - 2014
The best way I've found to post anything to a forum is to first have a free "photobucket" account. Upload an image to photobucket. Then go onto photo bucket in your album and click on said image. Below that image is a list of codes for the image. I always pick the URL image code and copy it. Then in your post reply here on RC (or whatever forum you're on) there's a place in the top tool bar to add an image (right below the italicized "I"). When you click on that there's a place to paste the copied image code. It'll just be the line of letters and numbers during writing the post, but then it'll show up when you post it.
For some reason this forum likes to cut off the right side of an image, so I try to crop the image (before I ever upload it to photobucket) so that area I want seen is to the far left and there's unimportant stuff to the right of the image. That way when it's viewed on the forum the cutoff area is inconsequential. What I'm not 100% sure about is whether the cutoff area happens all the time, or just when being viewed on a smart phone. Most of my time on this forum is done from my phone.
An avatar is similar in nature in that you need to upload the image to photobucket and then copy the image code, but you first need to use an image resizer to get it down to the acceptable 170x170 pixel size. That makes an image much smaller than the original, so it's usually a good idea to crop the image before resizing it to show what you want to be able to see.
Once you have uploaded a cropped and resized image to photobucket, go into your user control panel and find the place to upload an avatar. Paste in the code and it should be good.

The avatar doesn't cut off anything, so there's no need to have your focal point to the left of the image. It will post what you put in.

A brisk 46 degrees this morning. If I had the time, a hike would get squeezed in.

An update on our plagiarizing US senator. The DOD has made the unprecedented move of telling the War College to send their investigation results to them. Now isn't that chilling? Did someone upstairs tell the Chief of Staff to make it go away? To make sure the final decision goes their way? To delay the results until after the Nov election?
For their part, the War College says their investigation will be done at the end of this week. The usual outcome for a plagiarizing event is to strip the offender of his degree. Who knows what it will be now?

Re: July Greetings - 2014
Well today is the start of our move! The sellers are supposed to be vacated by 1700 today, but when we talked to them they said they may be out before then. We've got our trailer almost completely packed now and we'll be taking the first load over as soon as they give us the all clear. It'll take several loads, but our plan is to have a good bit moved by tonight and sleep there.
As soon as we're all out of here, then the work begins on getting this place ready for school. It's going to be a busy month!

Re: July Greetings - 2014
Off to Seattle tomorrow morning for a week. My wife has a brother and couple of sisters there, as well as old friends. Me, I can do without the big city. It's changed so much since my high school days. I will stop at a few antique stores, though, and Ivar's, of course. Best fish and clam chowder on the west coast.

Re: July Greetings - 2014
We're mostly moved in tonight. We still have some heavies to move tomorrow, but we've got the kitchen, bedrooms and dining room pretty much squared away. We're sleeping here tonight though, so it's livable. The dog is about to drive me crazy with all of his pacing, but he'll settle down soon. Been a long day and tomorrow will be too.

Well, I was going to add a bit of Trivia in my "Ranger & Camping Trivia & Colloquialisms" thread, but I see that Dan and Phillip are starting a Sparing Match with each other.
Some events are more fun to watch than to be a Participant in.
