Trump is far from being the ideal candidate, but I can't imagine any AG Ranger voting for Hillary. Even abstaining from voting is essentially a vote for Mrs. Corruption.

Wow it's July and July 1st was going out on a backpack with one of the college young men that has been backpacking with us for 10 years. WE got up to the trail head after a neat 1 hour drive with the windows down and the sun roof open in his 199?s Volvo and just when we were getting out... text came in on his phone...reminder about our training meeting in the morning at 8:00 am...
I laughed good and hard and said Joshua did you have a forgetful momement...he looked down and said yes. WE explored 2 side roads that took us down to the river and headed back to home. Work comes before fun.
Sunday yesterday we were supposed to go floating...by floating buddy said there was 3 hurricanes one typhoon and 4 tornadoes and it was going to rain so I did the right thing and texted him back. Sissy.

GRIN! Working today for the big bucks. Tonight 4th of July family all coming in for a fireworks evening of home made icecream and blowing money up with loud sounds saying ...let freedom ring!

Took the family out hiking after church yesterday, nothing too hard core but a 8KM jaunt into the back country of Strathcona Provincial park. Weather was perfect excepts for the downpour that came out of no where. I had to lend my rain coat to someone else that forgot to put theirs in their pack. No big deal. I was dry by the time we got to the van. We only had to carry my 4 yr old Daughter about 50% of the way. They all slept in in today until 8:30. Great time was had by most. I loved it. Can't wait to get out and do more of that this summer.

I spent 12 hours outside in the sun yesterday fixing a PULP copper cable 900 pr...1800 soaking wet paper coated wires in the mud backing in the sun. CHA CHING! Sound of cash register...
Bad news was it was a Heat Advisory. My coworkers were supprised a ole timer like me was doing better than they were...GRIN!
We put over 30 pounds of desiccant trying to dry that paper cable out. Had to apply it at least 6 times. Spreading the pairs of paper pairs apart trying to get drying chemicals down in the core of that 4" cable.

So enjoy your 57 degree weather and I lost 5 pounds yesterday sweating it out ... in our over 100 degrees heat factored air. Humidity was so heavy the dessicant wasn't drying them. I had mud that was still wet on the outside of that cable that I thought would have been baked hours before. I love weather! Yours is looking better than mine.

Camporama in 12 days. BRING IT ON! It's going to be hot. I wished I was suffering through that with you guys down here.

I got back from spending $1,400.00 getting a root canal.

The Doctor asked my how it went. I told him that it rated right up there with having a Parachute Malfunction.

(He is a former Navy Lieutenant-Commander, so I think that he understood.)

The religion of peace strikes again in France. Their multi-month state of emergency was just about to be lifted when the attack occurred last night.

And now the Islamic wanna-be dictator of Turkey is in the process of being ousted as I type this. A coup by the military is in progress. They were sick and tired of him and his unwillingness to deal with jihadists.

..............and Obama has finally gotten a handle on keeping the world safe. He is going to outlaw Trucks, Guns, and Pressure Cookers. That will force the Jihadists to all throw up their hands and sing, "Kumbaya".

(Oh, I forgot. They can still cut our throats with kitchen knives.)

Concerning the terrorist truck driver, I haven't read or heard a single thing about...

1) Where did he pick up all the weapons and hand grenades that were in the truck?
2) Where was he delivering it to?

Sudden jihad syndrome caused the driver to fail his most immediate mission. If the worst storm cloud ever had a silver lining, maybe this was it.

My oldest son Phillip Jr is working with me full time this summer. I figure if I started doing construction full time during the summers at 13 yrs old, then he can too! Luckily I've got contracts right now that allow him to come on site, vs an industrial atmosphere that would prevent him unless he was 18. In SC children of business owners are exempt from the child labor laws, so he's able to work with me legally. He's honestly doing really well and other than his physical strength in certain tasks is doing as well or better than any other green horn that I've hired through the years.

I've been pleasantly surprised from the reception he has received from guys on the jobsites. I was a little nervous that they might think ill of such a young boy on construction sites, but everything has been very positive. I think most people (at least that I run into) are realizing that America is screwed up and they seem genuinely pleased to see a young man out working instead of sitting inside the house glued to a TV.

I'm taking this opportunity to teach him budgeting at a young age while he still listens to the "old man". If he develops good money management habits now, it will serve him well in years to come. It's also good for him to see and talk to older guys who recount their stories of mistakes in their youth. It's one thing for "dad" to tell him why it's important not to be stupid when you're young, but another when you hear old guys pushing brooms tell you the same thing. I've been pleased to see guys who've really screwed up in life urge him to be smart. I think they genuinely mean it and hope that he will do well.

It's interesting to see your son start down the path of manhood. He's still very much a boy, but he's now entering a man's world and is starting to change. I can see it in the seriousness at which he sets about his tasks as I lay him out. The play in him is starting to wane. As happy as I've been through the years at seeing my kids do different things like walk, talk, etc., seeing him take responsibility and begin to work has filled me with more pride than anything else. Our relationship is changing between he and I. I know that it will be a long road to full manhood for him, but this summer has been a big step for him.

For $ and finance I highly recommend Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover and/or Financial Peace University.

I read Total Money Makeover several years ago. It's a good book.
