Good deal! Looking forward to a forum meetup! And bring me a leather bound first addition of that book, if you will....

Re: Camporama 2016
We have our back to school bash to kick off the new ranger year this coming Sunday afternoon. We'll be letting the parents know about the upcoming year's plans and Camporama will be one of the topics. Hopefully there will be a lot of interest in it.
We're already planning out the different fund raisers that the boys can take part in to raise money for the trip. I guess we'll see who really wants to go or not.

Re: Camporama 2016
Just saw this Camporama promo video. If this is any indication of new direction, the ship might be turning back towards the right direction. What do y'all think?

To quote Darth Vader..."Impressive." Besides the non-PC, let's be boys and men sales pitch, something else caught my attention. The commander seems to be wearing an old-school uniform.

To me it looked like a utility uniform shirt with tactical blue cargos. I like that better than just plain tees we have seen use represent Royal Rangers at the national level.

Re: Camporama 2016
I don't think that we are going to make it there this time. The exchange rate and the amount of $$$ it will require just won't happen without a massive donation towards that goal. at least we can start planning and fundraising for 2020 now, we should have enough cash set aside for then. And I will have more boys that are old enough. Right now I only have 6 boys in the DR/AR group, In 4 years all the boys that are in Ranger Kids will be old enough to go. (anxiety starting to set in at the thought of having to travel half way across the country with that many boys....) AHHH!
With the current exchange rate, our flights alone will cost $1000CAD. Add on to that transportation to the airport(gas, ferry, Parking, Food) $395CAD for registration too plus spending money, and I am sure they would laugh at us if we tried to pay with our colourful cash too.
I look forward to meeting you all in 2020!!

Re: Camporama 2016
It's either fly or drive and that would be a 5 day nightmare I'm sure! I'd be ready to go home by the time we got there, or be hauled off to jail for killing boys.

Re: Camporama 2016
I will speak for you. They made him do it. GRIN!
We are so blessed to have it so close. 1.5 hour drive for us.
Its cool to get with so many like minded folks all in one place. It will be hot but it will be worth it.

Re: Camporama 2016
This time round Iowa is trying to coordinate as an actual state, or at least a few cities for rides and trailers. Thank goodness. Wish we had done this last time.

Re: Camporama 2016
Hey we did this for rendezvous with 3 outposts. Worked great and it was fun to fellowship with them. Brought us all together even closer. They feel like family.
I love this about the camping aspect of Rangers. Spend a few campouts with folks and pretty soon they are family.
