Wet and Wild Card Board Boat Regatta Race 2016
Friday we head down for a fun filled SW Divisional Pow Wow and a big Regatta Race on Saturday.
20 to 30 corrugated cardboard boats will be hauled down to Mutton Creek on Stockton lake for a 3 hour tour! 10:00 am to 1:0 pm will just about do it for these folks.
We will be racing up to 3 boats at a time across a cove and then around to through the water balloon gauntlet of their racing buds lobbing water balloons at them....like 75 at a time...woo whoo it's a hoot.
We will have two race announcers that will keep you laughing along with the antics of Rangers and friends of Rangers paddling as fast as they can for the best time.
2 age groups RK - DR, and AR - ER will compete for trophies and ribbons.
If any of you are in the area come on down for a fun filled race! It's really WET and WILD!
Race is August, 6th, 2016. Bring your favorite drink and your favorite chair and some shade!
Do a search for Royal Ranger Cardboard boat regatta on youtube and watch the antics!

It was WET and Wild! We had hard rain through out most of the 14 boats racing. YET WE did not quit! We had a great time. Report and pictures.

So who won? That little military themed boat looked like it was doing pretty well.

Yup that boat won a 1st place in speed. 1st place in design and 2nd place in team work.
Those 2 boys were one of the Race Announcers Grand sons. They are a great family and make Rangers Fun!

Mom was out with these two in a metal boat the night before coaching them on paddling. It is neat to see 3 generations working hard to succeed in Rangers. Grandma was out there hollering and right next to mom. These folks all made the Big Bat cave campout as well.
Love these folk.

That's cool to see the families involved. Again, another activity I'd love to do once we get a place to work on bigger projects. We are still sharing facilities with church and school, so those type of projects will have to be in the future.
