In all seriousness, I come from Milwaukee, where the language is a mix of English, German, & Polish.
So it's not uncommon to hear something like, "Throw Grandma down the stairs, her sweater."

You ever been to Canada's east coast? Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.....most Canadians need to take translators with them as the dialect is so different and strange.

Woo Whooo Ranger. It's just about shinnin time. Move in time.
We are wanting to put in some of those doors in our house. Our wood doors have taken a beating with my son and all his friends.
Those paneled doors look nice.
Good idea not putting the garage attached to the house. Build a big 48 by 60 garage just out of hearing distance from the house. Add a few dead animal skins hanging around and you will have the whole garage to yourself. GRIN!!!!

Re: Our new house
Chris may need to reside in the garage then.

We're talking Canadian, here.
It's "Grage (Graj)".

Gun shop reloading and cleaning scary black rifles. In American we call the shop a man-cave!

Re: Our new house
To Dream! My little ole shed (shop) 12 x 16 isn't what I used to have. 20x 28 wood shop with dust collection 5 220 outlets and about 50 110 volt outlets. Heat and bathroom and phone and intercom going into the house. It was nice. Every woodworking machine had dust collection to it. It had a wood rack, glueing table, assembly table. Radial Saw, Table Saw, Planer, Jointer, Molder, Shaper, Sanders all kinds, 50 C clamps, 20 plus bar clamps. It was a nice 2 man production shop...sold it all and got saved. GRIN!

These things can consume one. I know they did me. Now if it's not ministry related. I am just not much interested in it.
Now mind you I spent last week finishing up the laminate flooring, cleaning, repairing and resealing the roof of the 19991 travel trailer and am still working on the Snapper mower. Yet just enough to get er done. Gotta go build Ranger Card Board boats... it's time to leave.

Keep it all in balance or as bible says moderation. Even "ministry" can be all consuming for some. Not all families or spouses care for that either.

Re: Our new house
I would venture to say there are a lot more lukewarm folk then there are consumed folk as far as ministry goes.
Most people give ministry lip service. Yet we all know that. Less than 10% do all the work in the church the rest just kinda float on through. GRIN!
In my 25 years I have seen some real works going on and some real flakes going on. Also seen a whole lot of lukewarm folks filling a pew on sunday mornings.
Our devotion at the Div meeting last friday night was go and tell..what part of that don't we understand.
Balance can cause one to become lukewarm... Keep Jesus first.

Re: Our new house
I'd have to agree with you here. When I get "out of balance", even in ministry things, it's because I'm doing it in my own strength. When the Holy Spirit's direction is truly sought after, He will guide you. That means the wife and kids will be taken care of. The job will be taken care of, and the ministry will be taken care of.Mark Jones wrote:I would venture to say there are a lot more lukewarm folk then there are consumed folk as far as ministry goes.

Many times we're overrun with OTHER things, so when we get "burned out" we point to ministry as the cause. I believe though that even within "ministry", people can get burned out because either it isn't what God called them to do, or they're not keeping Him FIRST in what they do. We serve a jealous God who won't share His glory with anyone, even in the name of "ministry"! Want to see God remove His hand of blessing? Do things in your own strength and see what happens!
But we digress.....
Glad the house is going well Chris!

Re: Our new house
Our house has been complete for sometime, but we are still not in it.
USDA Rural Development does the mortgages for Habitat houses around here & they can not seem to get their waterfowl linear (Ducks in a row )
Our closing has been postponed 7 or 8 times now over the last month.
We are told we MAY have the closing this coming Wednesday. (but we have heard that one before-mainly,every Monday, Wednesday & Friday for the last 2 weeks)
