"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6

This verse begs an interpretation. Is it: If we correctly carry out the first part of the verse, our children will not walk away from their faith? Or is it: If we do the first part of the verse, and 80% of them DO walk away, any surviving children will eventually wise up and come back?

I believe that it is the latter.

Here is a bit of "secular wisdom" that applies to the young folks in your second interpretation:

Some of us Learn from Other People's mistakes...

The rest of us ARE the Other People.

Given the coarsening culture, it appears that the second category will go way past the current 80%. I thank the Lord that my boys didn't fall away. And I will NOT let my grandkids do so.

I am blessed to have 2 wonderful Kids now 29 and 23.  Grand kids are now 5 2 and 5 months.  They are getting the same as we did our kids growing up.

Yet I look around and there are a bunch of folks that did the same as we did and their kids would break hell wide open if the Lord came back right now.  Sadly I don't think there is much we can do  about the foolishness of youth.  Yet we can remain in Prayer and stand on God's Word that they most likely will come around.

Until He comes back I too will do my BEST with His help to try and steer these young people away from hells gates.

I will say that most colleges are so liberal I don't know if it's a good idea to send our youth there. I had a girl come over from Evangel University years back and what she offered was not in the Good book. My retired 2nd line boss is a graduate of Evangel Temple and she is the significant other to another she. Even when we send our kids to Christian College .... we can only hope for a Life Long Christian to Emerge.

It's in God's Hands. Stay prayed up and be active in doing the right things with HIS HELP.

Proverbs are general sayings not necessarily absolutes.

A Fox News affiliate is reporting that President Trump has repealed Obama's directive on transgendered persons in the military. Nice to have a Commander-in-Chief who listens to his generals and admirals, instead of forcing "social justice" on them.

Now if Mad Dog Mattis can get rid of the Pentagon civilians who gleefully pushed this, we can get on with protecting our country against "all enemies, foreign or domestic."

Spent a week in Seattle and saw all the damage done to people in the name of tolerance and other liberal claptrap. There's nothing unintentional about the poor results of liberal policies. I was reminded of how Satan is actually guiding the coarsening of the culture.

The percentage of our population that is anchored by a belief system is getting smaller each year. And because of that, I doubt we'll ever have another spiritual awakening or revival. People who enjoy their 100% secular lifestyle don't see any need for change. To begin with, so many never received the benefit of religious instruction, either inside the family or out.

How can you fight an endless series of "Just Do It" moments?

I don't know... Corinth was pretty "out there", and probably more than anything we have today. There's nothing new under the sun. God can draw the hearts.

Christians often try to do the heart changing. Stop inviting Jesus into your heart. He transforms hearts then inhabits them. We plant the seed but never commanded to change the soil types we plant seed into.

My city, which I affectionately call the "Berkeley of the Rockies", has done it again. We have a century-old memorial gifted to the city by the Daughters of the Confederacy. In the interest of public safety, the commissioners are now removing it.

Not so tongue-in-cheek, I wrote an editorial asking when they would remove the bars and Planned Parenthood, who contribute to the deaths of hundreds each year in our state.

Ha! Ha! The leader of the Girl Scouts (down 26% in recent years) wrote a letter to the leader of the Boy Scouts (down 41% in recent years). She berated him for stealing her girls. Guess the BSA is working hard on the transgendered issue, trying to get their numbers up. Ain't tolerance grand?

A public school librarian back east made national news by saying she was rejecting the First Lady's gift of Dr. Seuss books, saying they were racist. She's just looking for her 15 minutes of fame. If Mrs. Obama gave her those books, she would have proudly accepted them.

How do I know? Because that librarian had earlier posted a picture of herself wearing a Cat in the Hat outfit...in her own library. Shameless hypocrite.

Hey, Claymore. You've probably noted all the hand-wringing from Hollywood celebrities as they admit they knew of Weinstein's sexual offenses. Since they never said anything about it before, could they be charged as being accessories-after-the-fact? Or at the very least, would they be potentially liable in a civil action brought by more recent victims?

There is a term called "Vicarious (from the word "Vicar") Liability.

It means that if a person (or entity) in a position of authority knows, or reasonably should have known, about a situation of a person violating the Civil Rights of another person, then that person (or entity) in the position of authority is also liable.  Sometimes this "position of authority" is also construed to mean as "having the ability to stop".

So, the question is, "were the other members of Hollywood in a Position of Authority and/or Have the Ability to Stop the damaging conduct?".

Oh, the Attorneys are going to go nuts with this one..............

Hollywood knows what's going on inside and does nothing about it for decades.
The Catholic church knows what's going on inside and does nothing about it for decades.

Hollywood = Catholic church (in the area of sexual abuse, at least). Will Hollywood be held accountable and publicly clean up its act, or will this go away within a week? A year or so ago, a couple of messed-up former child stars made noise about pedophilia in Hollywood. But it quickly died away. The rich and powerful protect the rich and powerful.

And it all comes down to the same motivation:

The INSTITUTION is so important that the safety of the INDIVIDUAL must be sacrificed in order to protect and preserve it.

In one of my classes yesterday, we were talking about institutions. To help the kids visualize where things were going, I mentioned the institution of marriage. They were vaguely aware that it's been marginalized and then corrupted. Our free-love culture (and government) reduced the need for marriage...let the government be your daddy. And what's left of marriage has been gravely wounded by the judiciary, allowing homosexuals to marry.

In other countries, governments are recognizing 3-person marriages, self-marriage, and more. Polygamy will return to America within a generation. Mark my words. It's an easy prediction.

Remember a few years ago when a hotel masseuse accused Al Gore of sexual harassment? The story died quickly. On the heels of Hollywood's Horror, two more hotel masseuses have just claimed the same thing of our former vice-president. Or will liberals continue to insist that only liberal female celebrities can be believed?

What to do? What to do? Such an "inconvenient truth".
