Leaders Training Conference 2018
This next weekend after east is our So. Mo District Leaders Training Conference. RR exec board meeting on Friday 8 to 3pm. Love burning those vacation days on meetings....
Our Leaders Training is mainly Ranger Basics and Ranger Essentials perhaps a Ranger Safety and a First Aid and CPR class. Also just a few other classes being offered.
Our attendance like our Rangers in our Churches is declining. We need to turn that around and once again start teaching the cool stuff that makes rangers a exciting ministry to be involved in. Used to teach all kinds of skills and trades and such.
What is your Leaders Training Conference like. What do you like most about it?

Re: Leaders Training Conference 2018
Been close to 15 years since I lived in a state that had an annual training conference. Probably 20 years since there was one worth attending. I do remember what came before then, which was interesting and exciting. Our outpost commanders would study the schedule and not duplicate attendance, so we'd cover the most ground possible.
Since there aren't many of those opportunities anymore, here's an idea (and why doesn't this exist already?) - A Royal Ranger YouTube Channel. Hundreds and hundreds of relatively short videos that cover everything, from proper wearing of the uniform to pain-free backpacking.
(and in case Springfield is eavesdropping...) YouTube Channels generate income.

Great idea. It's hard to get people to commit. It would be fun to give it a try and see how it goes.
For example my way of ......
most of the time there is already a video on youtube that shows how to do most things but I know all things are not on there yet. It could be fun.

We all step back and Mark is our volunteer for a channel. Lots of how-to videos but none I know of done by a leader in uniform representing Royal Rangers.

Re: Leaders Training Conference 2018
Well if it was official it would take years and years of legal forms to cover it all. Heck we could miss out on the Rapture if it became official. GRIN! In reality it would take years to do it and the methods would be out of date due to changes.
Some things were better off keeping free of folks with great ideas. Our last 8 years have been over the top in new ideas and cool things that well just ended up in Rangers Lite. So there you have it.
Let's keep the emblem out of it and let it be from our hearts and keeping it free in spirit and in truth.
A big or small corporation has a lot to lose if they have toooooooo many loose ends out there with their names on it.
District is bound by many things as well. We do a lot and if the lawyers had their say we wouldn't do hardly anything that was challenging or fun. Playing it safe looks good on paper but in the end it is a dead end.
YouTube on! Post it and proclaim it. Lots of cool stuff out there.
