CP: Will AHG start a boy version?
Garibay: From the very beginning, since 1995, parents have come to American Heritage Girls and asked about a boys program. That's why when the Boy Scouts came to us, we were excited to be able to say that this is our boys program. Now, thousands of families have emailed us asking what we were going to do for the boys. Since our mission is girls, we have offered to come alongside groups like Faith-Based Boys to help in any way for them to make a program for boys that can align with AHG so that we can have families do this together.

We love the AHG program. The girls are having a blast with it. Currently they allow you to pick your own four digit troop number. Our outpost number is 210, so we picked 0210 for the AHG troop number. Definitely something to look into for people who aren't digging the Mpact "hangout" program.

Too bad they didn't mention RR as a good alternative to BSA, but then again they were probably only talking about scouting programs....   Maybe one day RR will again BE a scouting program like it was originally intended so that people would consider it.

It can be depending on which outpost is running RR1.0 or RR2.0!

Oh I understand that as I believe we lean more 1.0, but the only thing other organizations and casual observers know is what the national office releases, and that is that we're not a scouting organization anymore...

So what happened? Royal Rangers rejected the offer?

They wouldn't reject the potential revenue a partnership would generate. Though it would be like Royal Rangers having two wives since we're partnered with M'ettes...

a while back I saw an article about AHG considering Rangers as the official AHG boys partner.

But after checking out the AHG website today it seems they chose to partner with a group called Trail Life USA http://www.traillifeusa.com/

Trail Life is the group that just started recently by the disgruntled BSA leaders after the decisions were made about allowing open homosexuality. They [Trail Life] seem to be a group with a solid vision. Hopefully they'll stay true to that vision and not be swayed by political correctness. 

Apparently there was such a vacuum created by BSA's decision that a whole new scouting program was created. There's a part of me that wonders if Royal Rangers would've been able to fill that vacuum even if it was still an official "scouting program" because of our open acceptance of and daily operation with the Holy Spirit.

Billy Graham preaches that the cross is offensive to people because of what it represents. It challenges people to recognize their sin. I believe the Holy Spirit is the same. He's the power to do the things Jesus commanded us to do. He becomes offensive to people who are playing a religious game of wanting to appear good, and maybe even are good people, compared to those who who are willing to lay everything down and allow Holy Spirit to lead and guide their lives daily.

Trail Life looks like a good program  

It is interesting that the true roots of the Boy Scouts was in Fieldcraft, Nationalism, Reverence to God, and acknowledged that its training was adopted from military training manuals.

There was a need felt for this in England & the U.S., and the Scout Troops caught on like fire.

I think that, aside from being wholesome, it appealed to many boys, because the 40-hour work-week hadn't been established, and many fathers were gone from sunup to sundown. Any mentoring by an adult leader was probably relished.

There was a vacuum when Boy Scouts came to being. I hope that Trail Life succeeds, but it does not have the fertile virgin soil that Boy Scouts had in 1908-1909.

Doesn't this all remind us of church history? New group is formed in protest over issues in the old group.

And so it continues.... Eventually organizations get so worn down by apathy that there isn't any other choice than to start anew. 

I could point to America with that statement too, but then that might make this thread move to politics.

Boil anything long enough and you'll get down to the bones. I've never understood people who don't want to "discuss politics". To me, politics is nothing more than your personal world view. If people don't believe in their world view enough to defend it, maybe they should examine it to determine if it's worth holding onto...

Thats the problem they are afraid to examine and be wrong. We all have a need to feel in some control of our destinies. Believing a "story" contrary to what the gov says happened would bust people's bubbles. Morpheus in Matrix tells Neo these people here aren't ready to be freed from the matrix they will fight you to keep their illusion. The one guy betrayed them in order to get back into the matrix and forget reality.

I love that movie! Perfect allegory for modern day America.

I don't think its an accident that movies seems to foretell the future. I don't mean that we'll all be turned into energizer batteries used to directly power an artificial intel. Its conditioning us to expect a future where we want a false saviour (antichrist).

To me Matrix is like the original Tron in that it is biblical allegory. The real world of AI's is like the spirit world that no one sees but controls what we perceive as reality.

It is better suited to a Spiritual application. I use it as an example all the time when describing how spiritual warfare is happening all the time around us, yet most people are oblivious to it.

Also reminds me of the books "This Present Darkness" and "Piercing the Darkness". I really enjoyed those two.
