The leaves are turning, as they have for thousands of years. At the point where each leaf is connected to a twig, a little "valve" has shut. Deprived of moisture sent up from the roots, the leaf now dies, sacrificed to ensure that the tree lives through the long months of a winter that doesn't supply much water. Trees didn't evolve this characteristic. It fully happened the first time, or the tree died during its first winter. It was designed to work that way.

But man wasn't designed to do the same. We were created to be eternally connected to the Father, who gives us life. It's past time for our country to turn back to God. And it starts with each individual person.

"This will not be an operation. This is war."

For the first time in 50 years, Israel has officially declared war on an enemy. And this time, they will likely not stop until Hamas ceases to exist in the Gaza Strip. Israelis have also been attacked by Hezbollah out of Lebanon, and within Egypt itself.

Iran takes credit for giving the green light to all of these terrorist attacks. Our own government is complicit. Obama and Biden have each given the Iranians multiple billions of dollars. A State Dept official was recently exposed as giving an Iranian agent deep access to our government. Biden reversed a Trump ban on giving Hamas hundreds of millions of dollars, some of which went to families rewarded for producing jihadist martyrs.

Pray for Israel. Pray for America. This isn't going to end anytime soon.

Back in January, the organization that created and controls the Doomsday Clock moved the arms to 90 seconds before midnight. This was due to the worsening Ukraine war, and it marked the closest Earth has ever been to Doomsday. If they met today, with a newly-declared war in the Middle East, where would they place the clock?

The global elite, which includes a large portion of our own country's government, is doing a bang-up job. But it all plays into God's plan. We're another day closer to the Rapture.

Okay, I'll say it. The 100+ hostages (Americans included) are as good as dead. Hamas uses them as propaganda, shields and a way to buy time. There's only one country out there that can convince Hamas to release them...Iran. Through whatever diplomatic channels, or completely out in the open, the US (and hopefully a couple of allies) should state that REAL "shock and awe" will hit Iran unless they tell Hamas to back off.

Hit Iran’s nuclear facilities, and next take out their oil refineries and terminals. Let them know that their cash flow stops for as long as they are supporting terrorism.

Israel would do it, if we give the tools and our blessing.

And open up U.S. oil production, to keep the price from getting out of hand.

It's deja vu all over again. Just like in Afghanistan, Americans are trying to get out of Israel...but airlines are staying away. A congressman flew to Jordan, worked with their gov't, and got 30+ citizens out. And there's at least one veteran's group on the ground and doing the same thing.

Not long ago, my friend's son put his master's degree on hold for the better part of a year. A former Marine and private security for embassies, he was part of a group in Afghanistan, "doing what Americans (government) won't do." Wonder if he's going to Israel now?

At our leadership meeting last night, we pledged a certain amount for the victims of the Hamas attack. But we're having difficulty in selecting a non-profit to send it to.

Looking at some of their latest annual financial statements, an overhead expense equaling 21% of contributions is the "best" we have found so far. A huge non-profit with the initials SP has 71% overhead. How do they sleep at night?

"Charity Navigator" gives Operation Blessing a 99% rating.

When you make your donation, you can designate it to a specific area or a specific mission (I have donated to Operation Blessing Medical & to Operation Blessing Ukraine).

That's impressive. I just looked at their 2022 Financial Report. Only 9% of revenue goes to overhead.

If you go to Operation Blessing's page, and click (where they have missions) on "Middle East", a special box for Israel should pop up.

You can make your dedicated contribution through that site.

October 2023 Thread Empty Re: October 2023 Thread

Post by joecool October 15th 2023, 10:59 pm

Many years ago, I visited a small museum in Missouri. It was across the street from a small private college where Winston Churchill gave his famed "iron curtain" speech. Of course, one of the museum displays chronicled how he tried to wake up his countrymen in the 30's to the danger that Hitler presented to the West. I wrote a letter to that town's newspaper, which they were nice enough to print. One of the things I wrote was the opinion that no one of his stature was present in either of our political parties.

We still don't. Our elected leaders have been preoccupied and distracted by wokeism, and afraid of being cancelled, for far too long. By leftist design, they took their eyes off the ball. Our military is led at the top by corrupted appointees and those in uniform who have said the politically correct buzzwords for the last decade. Our intelligence agencies have lost their focus on keeping us informed and safe. Just in the last couple of years, they failed with Afghanistan, Ukraine and now with Hamas.

Would that we had a Winston Churchill to shout warnings at us, though like England at the time, enough of us wouldn't have listened. And now we're going to need a Winston Churchill to get us through the next several years.

Not happening. Only Jesus will see us through.

I just received a report from a family who has a young man serving in the Army.

He is horribly disappointed in how much training time is wasted on "Woke-ism".

During the past week, the entire battalion was called out into a formation, so that the Commander could warn them that, as one of their members has made the decision to go "trans", they must be courteous and respectful of "its" decision.

Can you imagine? Wasting the training time of 600 troops, to tell them how to act, because one of their members has decided to put on a skirt?

A young man that I have watched grow up over the last decade has just received an appointment to West Point. He's a big, strapping guy, bright, and a Christian. I sure hope he knows what he's getting himself into.

I have helped to get two second-cousins into West Point and one into Annapolis (I don't know what's wrong with that one....).

I just tried to give them an NCO's guidance on how to recognize the talents of their men and to treat them respectfully, in order to gain maximum efficiency and loyalty. I tried to convey, "YOU do not possess all of the talent and specialization needed to complete your mission, but your MEN will. Don't squander it.".

They are three brothers, and they come from a Christian home. We can just pray that their foundation is strong enough to withstand the corrosive forces of Wokeness that is perverting anything that is touched by the Federal Government.

Yesterday, I broke my cardinal rule: "What's the worst thing that can happen?" (And then I would take steps to make sure it couldn't happen.)

I was using my son's table saw, which had a custom "box" on top that he made for it. I made two cuts to a piece of plexiglas, turning it off each time. But the blade was still turning...and the box obscured my view.

Having just turned 69, I was relieved to find that my reflexes are as good as ever. But my thumb still needed 4 stitches.

Good to be back home again, although the drive took a lot longer than usual. Twelve inches of snow will do that.

Times are changing.
Both my kids got their first jobs this month.
My dauhgter took as position doing daycare in a home nearby.
My son is working full time at a local tire shop.
My wife got her first job in over 20 years. She is working as a school bus driver, hauling special needs kids.

Oh yes, they have been very eager to take credit for any good news. Even if they have to manufacture it.

SUch as the montly jobs report.

Biden admin "We created 300,000 news jobs this month!!!!!!! Bidenomics is working!!!"

Biden admin 3 weeks later at 5pm on a Friday: "Oops we over counted. Only 200,000 new jobs were created"
