LEAD14
All of the information for LEAD14 will be coming to our website soon. Keep checking http://royalrangers.com/lead/ for all of the events related to LEAD14.
ROYAL RANGERS ARCHERY
Centershot ministries and Royal Rangers are partnering to offer a new archery safety and skill development program. RR & Centershot Summary
• It will be named Royal Rangers Archery and be part of our National Shooting Sports Program (NSSP).
• Centershot Ministries will oversee and coordinate the RR postal archery tournament with new and updated guidelines.
• Details on this will be on our web site under special programs.
We are pleased to announce that Centershot ministries will be offering archery instructor certification to our leaders at two levels. See the attached document for more information on these training levels. Also, check out the pre-LEAD14 events for the first archery instructor training opportunities.
NEW CHARTER INFORMATION
The national web site has all of the new charter information that the national director talked about. Outposts can see the benefits, eligibility, and requirements at http://royalrangers.com/programs/chartering/.
Independent churches can also find the revised charter application from this page, which will walk them through the process. The one thing that has change in this process is the church completes the application and sends it to the national office. We will then forward the application to the district director for review before he sends it to the district superintendent. This application must be signed by the district superintendent and returned to our office for final processing.
2014 NSSP AMBASSADOR ANNOUNCED
Luke Cooper from Life360 Church in Springfield, MO is the new 2014 NSSP Ambassador. For more information on the National Shooting Sports Programs or on our newest ambassador, Luke Copper, visit http://thenssp.org/.
NEW ENDING DATE FOR BOYS’ AWARDS
The new Leader Manual and online applications have an update regarding the deadline for young men to earn the Adventure Rangers or Expedition Rangers Awards, including the Honor GMA. All requirements for these awards must be completed by the young man’s eighteenth birthday. Please click here to review these applications.
PIN & PATCH PLACEMENT
The patch & pin placement guides on the web site have been updated with a couple minor changes. The FCF membership pin has now been added to the awards vests for Adventure and Expedition Rangers, and the Outpost Ranger of the Year pin has now been re-labeled as a “special recognition pin” so as to multiple possible options such as Outpost Ranger of the Year, FCF Scout pins, or NSSP Ambassador pins. These updated documents can be found on our web site on the uniforms page at http://royalrangers.com/programs/uniforms/.
WINS
Georgia
“First, I would like to thank everyone involved in helping us get this program started. We have used the curriculum for three weeks now and have great feedback from our parents. We have several parents now asking about the girls ministries. Thank you again.”
Thomas Rowland, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church
South Texas
“I had many different thoughts about attending NRMC this year and was really looking forward to the experience… Mostly for the other five men from my outpost, but after arriving and going through the initial orientation and getting settled in, I realized that God had something special in store for ‘The Ole Sarge.’
“I was overwhelmed by the presence of God all during the training and especially during the council fire ceremonies on Friday and Saturday evening. The Holy Spirit renewed my spirit and I was blessed beyond measure…
“I needed this fresh touch in my life and I went to the well one more time. We can get so drained in serving others and sometimes we need to be served. I thank God for his ‘fresh touch’ in my life. My ‘spiritual batteries’ have been recharged and now this nearly 61 year old Royal Ranger is ready for a new set of challenges. Bring it on!”

It appears that the monthly Marsh blog is the best way to find out the latest information, whether new or a change. I'd given up on the national website.

Re: Doug Marsh Blog November 2013
I hang on the edge waiting for "Rangers Now" it has the latest and greatest. Packed full of new and improved stuff. It's part of your chartering dollars. A value that can't be estimated it's so rewarding. I wished this was all true.
The old magazines had some stuff in them that I enjoyed. I could hardly wait to read them. It's been a long time since I had that feeling. Washing off wet toast with hand cleaner just doesn't hardly get me to excited. If the hand cleaner was flammable..it might be kinda fun. GRIN!
We are in a sad state of affairs. Where there is no vision the people perish. Where there is a flawed vision the people shuffle their feet and slowly walk away. We need a revisit of a first vision. One that was so good it was strong enough to allow flawed ideas but continued on as these flawed ideas fell by the way side.
Rangers Now... is in need of looking back and doing what worked in the past.

Been a long time since I came across a request from national looking for local input. Does anyone from the big office stop by this site? Years ago when I was a silent guest, I vaguely remember reading posts from a national officer.

National officers if they come here spit out the party line or just lurk. You're thinking of rangerforums.com

Re: Doug Marsh Blog November 2013
Bruce, not trying to be too heavy on "bashing" National, but I recall on the old "Ranger Forum", only "Happy-Talk" was allowed.
If anyone mentioned a problem that he had with the Marsh-esque changes, his posts disappeared.
I had mentioned that I felt like Oliver Douglas in Green Acres. Everyone else was talking crazy, but they're all in agreement, and understand each other. I'm the only one who has different ideas and don't understand, so I must be nuts.

Re: Doug Marsh Blog November 2013
Doug Marsh only lives a few miles from my house. I know most of the National staff by first name. They have a job to do and have been told to do it. Their hands are tied to the oars and they have to keep rowing. IF it was my job I would do the same.
Since it's not my job or my income that is at stake. I have more liberty to choose. If it's good I tell them it's good. If it's bad I tell them it's bad. If it's stupid I tell them it's stupid. GRIN! Yet I keep working day in and day out in Ranger Ministry. Not so much in the empowerment business but am called to RTK boys for Christ. The rest of the stuff I don't agree with..I spew it out and go on chewing the cud.
Around here in Springfield...if your employed by GPH you had best watch your back. They are as carnal as the rest of us. I am thankful Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Man fails at it every time.

Re: Doug Marsh Blog November 2013
Well........, I have been known to be a bit of a Mustang.
In fact, some day I might get the boot for not being a CHOGO/AGO (CHurch Of God Only/Assembly of God Only).
When I get to heaven, I wouldn't be too surprised if I saw a few Baptists, Methodists, (and maybe even a Catholic, or two).

Re: Doug Marsh Blog November 2013
I sure do believe there are more than pentacostals and charismatics. We can kinda be an uppity bunch think we're better than everyone else. A kinda elitist attitude. I would rather be in a church full of people that didn't speak in tongues than one that did speak in tongues but lacked love. My first six months in Ohio I attended such a church before I came to the one I am at now. All Law and no Love is not Christianity to me, its Judaism.

His blog is aimed at District Directors, but its the best place to learn about anything new. I keep an eye on it & always post it here on RC

We learn very little otherwise. Old days we had Seek and Save, Ryan Beaty as voice of nat'l on RF, and decent RangersNow when it used to be a real magazine. Now we have, "change first, communicate second". I think the open lines of communications they started with in the beginning bit them on the butt when when RF'ers became vocal on many things they didn't like.

Don't know, but I clicked on the "Current News" link and got the following message from my Kaspersky:
"Access denied
The requested URL cannot be provided
The requested object at the URL:
http://dougmarsh.org/news_current.php
Threat detected:
object infected HEUR:Trojan.Script.Generic"
I don't know if there is something bad in there, or if my antivirus is just being overly sensitive.

Re: Doug Marsh Blog November 2013
It's Doug Marsh's Camp Summit Website from 2002.
Still has a lot of neat pictures from 12 years ago on it.
I was wondering how it was doing after the years.
Mark Jones
p.s. I am getting no errors on it.

Re: Doug Marsh Blog November 2013
It's been a long, long time. Perhaps a website stuck in the 1.0 era where they liked to camp in cabins.
There maybe more news about it. Perhaps RRI will have more uptodate info.

Re: Doug Marsh Blog November 2013
I checked out RRI. Nothing on there about Camp Summit that I could find.
IF you guys find out any info I am curious about it. I will ask some of the staff of RRI and see.
