Veteran's Day Empty Veteran's Day

Post by joecool November 10th 2021, 10:53 pm

Earlier today, I was the guest speaker for a couple of school assemblies. I asked them to write down their answer to "What Veteran's Day Means To Me." Whether you're a vet or not, here are a few of their responses for your enjoyment:

- It's a day of hope. We can take hope from all the brave men and women who have sacrificed.
- To thank the veterans for fighting for us.
- We celebrate people who served the United States.
- It means very much for me.
- On this day, we respect the veterans.
- Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love.
- We celebrate the people that protect us.
- We are honoring the bravery of those who served.
- It's the opportunity to thank those who have put their lives on the line to protect our nation. It is the chance to reminisce in the hard times our country has had in order to allow us to become so prosperous and fortunate. In addition, this day is a special excuse to pray for our military, our protection, and thank God for the sacrifices they have made.
- It means celebrating and remembering the veterans who have fought for our freedom and safety, to give future generations peace and freedom.
- To honor all the people who have done what not everyone can do.

To my fellow veterans, "Fair winds and following seas." Joe Cool

Veteran's Day Empty Re: Veteran's Day

Post by joecool November 10th 2023, 7:27 pm

Tomorrow is Veteran's Day. The last Democrat president who served our country was Jimmy Carter. The last Republican veteran in the White House was George W Bush. We've gone almost 20 years without that kind of experience in the Oval Office. From both parties, I can think of only 1 current presidential candidate who has served.

The world is getting more dangerous. From one vet to another, thank you for standing on the wall when you were needed. Fewer and fewer are willing to do so. Pray for the safety of those who are in harm's way as you read this.
