The snow is still flying up north.

It is 56 degrees here in Mississippi.

Tomorrow morning, the reporters covering the Iowa Primaries will all fly back to New York City, and you will not hear about Des Moines on the National News again until the year 2020.

Well, it finally happened. After bailing my Mom out a few times in recent years, I've taken over her finances. Advice to you all...don't trust that smile and assurances that things are just fine for too long. Get your eyes on everything to be sure.

I don't look forward to things like that.

I'll take that as a joke from ya lol but so many anti Cruz people use that as fodder to say he is not a natural born citizen when his mother was a US citizen.  

Who knows maybe Cruz being of hispanic/latino roots and Canadian birth place by an American mother will unify N America in the NAU.

Mark, I thought of you yesterday morning when I attended a bible study in local restaurant with a friend. The pastor doing the study was talking about ecumenism and mentioned Rick Warren was successful in many eyes because used man's business plans  even a Baptist preacher has more discernment than A/G leadership.

I can't help but think that the ever-increasing pressure to go cashless has led to this. With direct deposit, few people ever cash a paycheck. While drunken sailors can go through their cash pretty quick, at least they stop when the money runs out. With plastic cards, the money never runs out. At least, not until there's a sizable debt. In my Mom's case, it was overdrawn fees. My eyes bugged out when I looked at that number yesterday. And yet, the bank had been merciful and only charged her half. I would imagine a high percentage of senior citizens are underwater. I absolutely loathe seeing previously-admired entertainers shilling for reverse-mortgage commercials. Well, maybe they're underwater, too.

Or Fonz just sold out to take advantage of fellow seniors...

Dave Ramsey in Peace University says same thing about cash. Losing cash hurts more than random numbers on an account sheet.

Reminds me of Ryan Leaf, whom the Chargers selected against the advice of many. A narcissist of the highest order who blew up within a couple of years. Last I heard, he was still in jail here in Montana for repeated burglaries (to get painkillers and the like). Sad story.

What does it matter where he is born anyway? Does that effect how he does his job? For example, a few years ago now, the Governor General of Canada, (who directly represents Queen Elizabeth) was born in Haiti.

The problem is that it has to be "Constitutional".

Our Constitution, as originally written in 1784, states that, in order to be president, a person must be a "...naturally born citizen....".

Some have taken that to mean "born on U.S. soil", but John McCain was born to a military family on a U.S. Military Base in Panama -- Congress passed a resolution stating that he met the requirements to run for President.

Cruz has one parent who was a U.S. Citizen, and that made him a citizen by birth, but is that a "Naturally Born" Citizen.

Maybe not, if he was delivered by Caesarian section.

Nuisance lawsuits. At least 3 states have already ruled in Cruz' favor. Now go back 8 years when McCain was running. He happened to be born on a US military base in Panama. Congress passed some kind of resolution stating that he was eligible for the presidency. Congress won't do the same for Cruz, though. They don't like someone who isn't "go along to get along." Because of that, he has few friends in D.C. (And that's a good thing!)

Yeah, did you see the video of Carter talking to parliament when he said he'd rather see Trump than Cruz get the presidency because Trump doesn't really stand for anything, but Cruz is staunch in his views?

Natural born citizen goes back to British common law where Britians were natural born abroad if a parent was a British citizen. George Washington defined it the naturalization act of late 1700's. 

If two illegals can jump the line to Tx and birth a baby and its called natural born than a legal American citizen who gives birth on another patch of ground shoukd be considered natural born as well. 

I think the idea is to prevent a foreign power from planting a candidate here who is naturalized or in essence adopted. Thats my best analogy that natural born citizens are like children born biologically into the family. A not natural born citizen is like an adopted child we bring into the family.

NAU is an alleged conspiracy that some in power wish to unify N American countries of Mexico, USA, and Canada and have an Amero as a single currency. Similar to EU in Europe. GW Bush among others supported the idea of a super hwy connecting Mexico to Canada allowing unfettered travel.

I don't think that in this world the NAU would get off the ground. We north American's, particularly Canadians and Americans like to control our own sovereignty.

That's just it. Most INDIVIDUALS do, but you have a growing collective that wants a "king" (of sorts) and to be taken care of. They're like blind sheep heading willingly to the slaughter because they believe there's icecream waiting for them inside....
