Praise Report Empty Praise Report

Post by Phillip Gross May 27th 2014, 9:57 pm

You guys may or may not have surmised this, but the past year has been a whirlwind for me. The business had dwindled down to just me and a helper and things looked bleak, but God is good all the time. I had received a prophecy that the business was going to really take off, and it has. I've grossed more this year to date than I have in entire years from a couple years ago. It hasn't been easy though. I've had to put in long hours and away from home a lot.

I've been praying that God would bring the right personnel along for awhile now so that I can better manage the work load and be home with my family more. In this past week I've been able to hire three more men taking us up to seven employees including myself (eight when dad comes out to play (he's my ace in the hole!)) One man has been living out west and wanted to get back to SC to be closer to his family. He happened upon an add I had posted on Monster that was brought up by key words. He's got a lot of experience in our field (which is rare because its a nitch trade) and he's a Christian! He should start in a week or two once his badging comes through.

Then I had a young gun out of highschool come asking for a job. He's not one of these gamer lazies, but a young man who works on cars, has worked on a farm, etc. and is looking for a trade to get into.

Tonight I got a call from a man who's got about ten years of electrical experience and needed a job. He is confident in his abilities, but not arrogant and sounds willing to learn how I do things.

So in a week God provided another top level, mid level, and entry level worker to join the top, mid, and entry level that I already have employed! I like a well balanced company and God has provided!

God is good!

Philip, you're bound to always Gross well...  lol!

Thats awesome! I did two years of vocational electricity learning residential, commercial, and industrial wiring. I once fixed a poorly constructed 3-way light switch in an old house growing up. The problem was the two hot wires were screwed to the side terminals of the 3-way switches instead of the bottom two terminals. If you turned it off on one end you couldn't flip light on by other end. When left home alone I isolated the circuit, disassembled the switches, rewired and all was good again.

Good trouble shooting Dan! I enjoy the trade. There's always a challenge somewhere.

I figured we'd talk about that when I start the next company that I have in mind. I'll be in need of someone who can keep track of material coming in and product going out... If it happens. Been chewing on it for years. Hopefully it'll happen if I get my ducks in a row.

Think you could handle the heat and humidity of the South? Like walking around in a suana all day long. Some people pay for stuff like that. We get it for free! Smile

Is there a lot of difference in SC humidity and TN humidity? Wife and her sister want to move there. I am losing weight as it is now. Down to 264.4 lbs loss of 35.6 lbs so your State of Sauna would only help to accelerate it.

Maybe, the heat and humidity is what helped you stave off the Northerners for 3 years...
