Entry Level Backpacking Trip report.
This past weekend we took a group of new Royal Rangers and Friends of Rangers backpacking on a Entry Level Backpacking trip. Kept it down to easy do able stuff. They loved it.

Having a new group is wonderful. All new to the teaching and field excercises. So they are just loving this training. Still have some folk showing up from the past outpost to go backpacking with us.
Leaders all it takes is a Sleeping bag, a Tarp and a coat and a few other things....folks we have all this already. Those boys love it. Just take them out on a short trip out from a trail head preferably near some water and camp out. They love this. There are so many public lands that are free to camp on. Just look them up on the web and give them a call. They are as excited to see this land used as I am.
Just keep it to a dry weekend and temps above 45 and below 85 and you will have a great time.
It's good stuff. Don't miss out on it.
