17 Rangers and Friends of Rangers camp over night and Rappel the mountain!

We had a wonderful time. Report and pictures of this over night car camping trip and 6 hours of rappelling Mount Judy at Sam's Throne in Arkansas. Perfect Weather.

What was that rappelling face? It looks like about 75 to 90 feet.

This cliff face is 87 foot but there are some over 150 feet close by. WE used two ropes for rappel. My rope had both a top and bottom belay person. It was fun. It had been 6 years since our last visit to this cool place.

Sam's Throne is a Rappelling - Hiking area. Really cool cliffs and places to explore and as well as Top Roping.

The Rock surface is very stable with almost none to no rocks falling. The Throne is a big hill that is out in the middle of the big valley that sticks up 150 feet on some edges other edges it's only 30 feet. We have camped up on the throne only a couple of times. Mostly we car camp where we rappel.
