Thanks To Chris & Dan
I was recently reminded of the Journey that Chris embarked upon to create (and sustain) RangerChat.
While I was not around during "The Creation", it is my understanding that, with Dan's help & encouragement, Chris took the incentive to find a venue that would support his first Base for RangerChat, and worked feverishly to create and maintain it.
After a few years of having a successful Forum, when the original location became too much to support, because of having to clean up numerous/daily infiltrations and postings by spammers & "bots", Chris again journeyed into the Internet Wilderness, to find a safe place for us to meet, exchange ideas, and get information to support our Outpost Programs.
So the crux of my message is, "Good Job, Guys!". While we may not be the biggest or flashiest site on the net, it has persevered for over six years.
And while, with his new house and new job, Chris now has more money-than-time, he seems to still manage to take a few moments to swing by and insure that the Forum is still running smoothly.
Good Job!
God Bless.

Chris and Dan, I am a fan,
'cuz Ranger Forum makes me hum.
Wife says spend less time here, yes I can
'cuz I spend too much time on my bum.

I'd never heard of Burma shave and their type of advertising with succeeding billboards making up a whole slogan until I watched "The World's Fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins. (A definite "need to watch" film for anyone into motorcycles, racing, engines in general, or just a good story about an underdog)

Re: Thanks To Chris & Dan
There used to be a set alongside the road between Hazel Green, Wisconsin and Galena, Illinois. I saw them every day, on the bus to school.
In fact, I recall seeing many of them in Illinois. We Wisconsinites called folks from Illinois "Flatlanders". Maybe the terrain was more conducive to that kind of advertising.

Re: Thanks To Chris & Dan
The best advertising I ever saw was a billboard by the highway. It added a word each week until you found out what it was all about...
What
Do
You
Want
On
Your
Tombstone?
(the last week showed a pizza)

Re: Thanks To Chris & Dan
I saw one along those lines a few years ago. It was a billboard with a man's bust and the question "Who is this man?"
Of course I Googled it to see if I could figure it out (probably like a ton of other people), to find out it was someone running for public office. So in posing a mysterious question I ended up seeing his website. How many advertisements do you see or hear that you actually look up the website that they want you to go to??? Not often, but this guy "tricked" people into going to his.
