Obama Made Me Do It!
Well, I have been an NRA Member since I started shooting in the Army Regional Matches back in about 1979. I remember sitting outside the barracks for the competitors a night prior to shooting, and an old E-7 had a conversation that went like this:
Old Sergeant First-Class: "So Sarge, are an NRA Member?"
Me: "No. I don't have anything against them, but I'm not in the NRA."
Old Sergeant First-Class: "Well, you should be. If it wasn't for them encouraging the Government to run these Rifle Matches, we wouldn't be here, today."
So even though I was fairly young and poor, I started managing to come up with the $15.00 per year (at that time) to be an NRA Member.
Then, after becoming an NRA Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, and Home Firearms Safety Instructor, I became a Life Member in about 1992. I was still poor. I paid about $25.00 or $35.00 per month for about 10 months to pay-off my Life Membership.
So, other than throwing in a couple of extra dollars in the "NRA Roundup" when I would purchase from Midway USA (about once per month), and purchasing a couple of Gift Memberships for my Brother-in-Law and his son, I haven't been really active in supporting the NRA.
However;
With the latest rants by Obama and Hillary, I figured that I could either throw my shoe through my flat-screen TV or do something constructive.
So, today I upgraded from being an NRA Live Member to an NRA Endowment Member - easy time payment program - $25.00 per month for 8 months.
Thanks, Obama. You got me off of my duff to do something.

And you've successfully stepped on my toes... I haven't been a NRA member in years. With all the stuff I waste money on, can't afford to support a group that helps keep our rights? I think so...

Re: Obama Made Me Do It!
They actually have a quarterly payment plan for Life Membership.
$25.00 per quarter for 10 years. At the end of that time, you are a fully paid-up life member.
If you decide to stop, they just credit what you have paid toward Annual Memberships. So if you paid for thee quarters and stopped, they would just apply that $75.00 as $25.00 per year toward your annual membership: so you would be a paid-up member for 3 years.

Let's not let this thread get buried. Is everyone a member yet that believes in protecting the 2nd Amendment? If not, what are you waiting for??? If you're already member, maybe consider buying a membership as a gift for someone else
