That attack Rat bit me.
Ok.
There I was sitting on family vacation around the fire ring about 4 pm with just a little smoke from the oak board smoldering for hours and I was looking around admiring the birds and the jumping squirrels and the wild life in this Gilligan's Island type park. I was just sitting there and bam out of no where a sting on my little toe on my left foot. I looked down thinking a biting fly or a bug had bitten me and there it was...the BIGGEST RAT I HAVE EVER BEEN BITTEN By. Ok.. I looked down in disbelief as he casually browsed off looking for food.
I got up first supprised it was a rat. Then looked at my toe then the rat. Yup I squeezed my toe..sure enough a drop of blood was present. I looked at the rat in the brush just a few feet away and he was just acting normal looking for something to eat... WELL I THOUGHT...you dirty stinkin rat. So I went over and washed my toe off at the outside hydrant then went to my truck and flushed it good with a alcohol hand cleaner and then went inside and washed it with soap and water. I added some antibiotic and a bandaid.
So I my wife and family and everyone I have talked to about this Rat Attack... were supprised he came up to me... (Well in his defense I was sitting pretty still and my little dirty toe did look like a peanut).
I couldn't tell if he bit me or just scratched me. After some research I found it's very rare for a rat to have rabbies. They carry other stuff but rarely rabbies.,...so my scratch healed up in 1 day. No symptons except ANXITY if I was going to die from Rabbies. GRIN! It's funny how your mind can go in all kinds of directions after something as simple as a this. It's minor when it happens to someone else. GRIN!
So. I am back at work up a pole hanging out over 2 yards on a ladder handling bird poop and nests and bug guts and spiders and I figure next time I am going to bite that rat first. GRIN! Only by the Grace of God is this the Rat any better than any other RAT! GRIN!
All my other shots are up to date. My sun burn has almost quit burning and my sore arms are feeling better after laying under the camper trimming off some aluminum under cover flooring that was coming off the bottom of the trailer... then the fridge access door blew off and we went back and I duck taped it back on after putting the 10 pieces back together..fixed the blown fuse in my trailer plug and fixed the sky light that came down on the rough roads in Alabama. Over all.. It was a great vacation. I am sure glad to be back to work...HA! Pow Wow next week..I can't wait.

I think a rat bite would freak me out... Glad you're OK and had a good trip.

Yah. I haven't been anxious over much for quite a while. That rat brought it out of me. Big ole Grin.
Looked at several med sites on Rat bites. It was interesting info. My little ole scratch was nothing compared to what the internet brought up. That ole Rat was a friendly country rat. GRIN!
Lot's of critters there in that park. It was fun watching them all.
That hanging out on the beach for 5.5 days was relaxing .... my wife could sit there all year...grin. After about 3 days for me is plenty of time and I am ready to do some thing else.
My wife and her brother enjoyed a snorkel boat trip for about 3 hours. Price was not to bad at 35.00 each and with tip it was about 50 each.
I need to get some prescription goggles as it gets blurry when I put a mask on. Gave up snorkeling a couple of years back because it was all blurry.... they make magnifiers and prescription lenses.... not sure if it's worth it unless we go some place really cool.
The beaches don't offer much in shells.

Good grief, Mark.
Let's home that he just bit you, because he thinks that you're so sweet!

Never been snorkeling, but have been scuba down to 40'. I loved it and would love to do it more if I lived in a place that had good dive places. There's a scuba shop around here that sells gear and teaches. I should see if there's any good places to dive around here... NO I SHOULDN'T. I need another money/time consumer like I need another hole in my head!

Mark is like that other Jones... Henry Jones Sr.'s worst fear was rats while his son's fear was snakes. I expect someday one of your treks will turn up the lost ark, the holy grail, or a crystal skull!

#1 was great, #2 was so-so, and #3 great again. In the last Indy movie, I could see where it was going and moaned out loud, "No, please no!" Never been more disappointed with a movie.

Couldn't agree more! They had the ingredients to make a great cake, but instead decided to make a big poo pie...joecool wrote:RRCmdrBennett wrote: turn up the lost ark, the holy grail, or a crystal skull!

I would have if I had prepped for it and had a m16 handy for the job at hand or a couple of gernades. GRIN!
Rules of the park said I couldn't do either of those...gurrr.

A .410 ga Judge would qualify as conceal carry handgun. That would have fixed him.
I would rank Indy movies best to worst Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Last Crusade, Crystal Skull, Temple of Doom. To me the most successful ones were related to Christianity. I don't mind te UFO/alien the of Crystal Skull. Afterall, I'm a Stargate, Star Wars, Star Trek fan.

Next time build some primitive snares around your camp area...Mark Jones wrote:I would have if I had prepped for it and had a m16 handy for the job at hand or a couple of gernades. GRIN!
