I am counting on you guys to hold down the fort. When our own military comes blasting away at us..there won't be much of a fight they have us out gunned.

Custer was outnumbered...and dumb, too

Custer was out for his own glory. Not the same as fighting for your family...

I don't think Custer was being tyrannized by the Indians. I recall American colonist were outnumbered, outgunned, and out-trained.

GRIN!... your forgetting about the technology. Today's technology makes the odds a 100 to 1 of not surviving against it.

They can count the number of people in a house from the curb. Our military technology would be a scary thing to have come against one.

I can't believe I'm saying have faith and Mark is talking about technology. We have to have faith that not all military will follow those orders. Military doesn't have an hnlimited budget under a democratic president. They are being downsized and under equipped. If they were so good where were they for 2 hrs on that fateful day in 2001!

When it comes to the nature of man. History is a great lesson. Civil war in our own country. Both sides saying God is with us. Some of the bloodiest wars were fought not far from Springfield, Missouri.

God and only God can change the natural man.

My Nephew just got back from 2 tours in afganistan and Iraq. The isurgants would come against them with automatic rifles but the firepower of the US sent them running.  He told us of one occurance 150 insurgants came out and attacked the marines base.  In less than 30 minutes Marine casualties 0 insurgants 150.  The road side bombs have taken out more folk than the guns.  

Even a M16 is no competition against a saw.  (it will plough up a football field in less than a minute)  

I say all this...best keep your eyes on Jesus Christ and what He has done for us.  He and He alone holds the keys for salvation and scantification.  Put your faith in HIM.  Guns are cool but you had best be relying on HIM.  

Get someone evil enough and they can take out whole cities with one bomb. Best be ready.

We'll never have to worry about our military going against us. We're going to be protected. After all, in July 2008, Obama said that we needed a civilian defense force that was just as capably armed as the military. They'd be on our side, right? Right, guys? (sound of crickets)

Don't underestimate guerrilla forces.

Good point Mark and Philip. Thats my point Mark even with best technology, weapons, and training the greatest empire in 1776 was defeated. Gideon's army with God defeated their enemies. I know many say God is on our side. The muslims say it all the time but yet most of them live like its 500 yrs ago!  I will rely on Him and also prepare to defend my family if I can. Trusting in God does not equal doing nothing.

Dan I never advocate doing nothing. I am just saying don't put your faith in your own means. That's all.

Please keep in mind todays tec almost brings the guy behind it into a god status.. when they can see through walls and throw more bullets then one can amagine. They have hand gernades that will mill melt thorugh the hood of a vehicle thorugh the engine and end up on the ground.

I will never advocate doing nothing. Yet I will always tell you not to put your faith in what your doing. Keep your relationship with Christ fresh and be ready. This life is only a breath compared to eternity. We often loose sight of that and put all our efforts in trying to preserve our life in this test of a life. Do what you know to do.

Thx Mark. Sometimes I've felt our faith is called into question for doing something. Now, if we sold our homes and holed up in a mtn that be crazy.
