Miracles I've Seen Empty Miracles I've Seen

Post by joecool January 16th 2014, 5:51 pm

This thread is for sharing first-hand reports of miracles, to encourage any reader.

When my oldest boy was a toddler, he was having stomach cramps all afternoon, bad ones. Mommy stayed home with him while I went to Sunday evening service. The message was on healing, and afterwards I went forward for the pastor's oil anointing on my request. I told a friend to call me in a half hour to share that my son was better. Actually, he had gotten worse. After midnight, we took him to the Army hospital, thinking we'd get a prescription and go back home.

After an examination, the doctor came out with surgery paperwork for us to sign. His intestines were blocked. Stunned, to say the least. An hour or so later, sitting in a room by myself, the "whys" and the "buts" started to flood my mind. Another prayer led to overwhelming peace, which I shared with my wife. Our son was put on a gurney and we followed. Twenty feet from the operating room, the doctor stopped and said, "One more check." He took him into a side room and came out a little later, saying our son's intestines were clear...no surgery needed. "But we'll keep him for a day to make sure."

Later that day, he contracted a virus and had a very high fever for the next 3 days. If he had surgery earlier, he would have died. It's been over 30 years, and I'm crying right now. Thank you, Jesus!

Can this thread be for reports of the supernatural kind which may not be called a "miracle" per se but definitely not fall within the normal parameters we know?

Perhaps it would be best to only share those events which are attributable to the Father. However, feel free to start a Twilight Zone thread.

If He allows us to see something even something that is not so positive it is Miracle to see it. In the end through prayer it did leave not return again. In that way it was removed by God.

Twilight Zone is fiction this wasn't.

It's the Holy Spirit that is moving in and around us. The Father and the Son both work through the Holy Spirit. WE pray to the Father in Jesus name and they send the Holy Spirit to do the work. That's the way it's supposed to work. Yet I think God is big enough He will get it done for us either way.

Miracles I've Seen Empty Re: Miracles I've Seen

Post by Mark Jones January 17th 2014, 5:10 pm

About 3 months after getting saved pursuing my xwife like a bird dog with God's help. My ex inlaws invited me with my xwifes permission to go on a family vacation to flordia.

My work at at&t has at times been a real stressor. Some years working over 540 hours of overtime during one calendar year..yup that's madness. It was in those years I got divorced in the first place.

Anyways. I approached my boss requesting for 3 days of non paid vacation. I had like 12 years with at&t at the time and had used up all my vacation time. I wanted to go on this trip with my xwife and xinlaws and my 3 year old daughter.

My boss said no. I can't spare you. I appealed to my boss's boss. He told me sorry but no. I was almost in tears. I told him I was trying to put my family back together and was begging him. He said no.

I drove my phone truck back into the garage parked out about 70 feet from the door and bound and derterminded to walk in there and tell them they could take this job and shove it. I jumped out of my phone truck walking briskly to the door reached out to open that side door and in a instant I was standing at my phone truck like I was about to get back in the cab.

Now mind you... I am a slow learner but God is patient. I headed back to that side door to tell them bosses what they could do with my job... before I got half way to that side door... in a instant I was back at my phone truck door like I was getting ready to open it and climb back in.

Tears welled up in my eyes... as they are now as I recall those moments. I climbed back into that truck with tears rolling down my face. I drove off that lot not being able to explain to my logic how all that instant here instant there was able to happen but I told God..I guess you didn't want me to do that...

In less than a half of a hour I got a call from my Boss's Boss. He told me I was a good worker and that he had gotten approval to give me 3 days off and to approve my other 2 days of vacation so I could make this trip to repair my family ties.

God works in so many ways. I am thankful He has patience to work with me. I am pretty head strong but my heart is right.

So ya. I understand how people can be in one place and in a split second be in another place..when God's in it.

I praise God for His goodness to me and my family.

Mark Jones
p.s. She is still meaner than a junk yard dog, GRIN! AT least I tell everyone that. She tells everyone I am going to go to you know where for lying..but it's really not lying..it's a joke! GRIN!

That's absolutely NEAT!

Kind-of like God making the Sun stand still for Joshua.

We think that Time & Space are things that cannot be controlled or changed.

To God, it's just "One more thang".

Miracles I've Seen Empty Re: Miracles I've Seen

Post by joecool January 17th 2014, 5:33 pm

About 15 years ago I was in charge of a springtime sectional hike. A couple of weeks ahead of time, I told my wife I was going to check out the trail conditions. "You're not going by yourself, are you?" No problem, said I, and left on a bright, sunny day.

Well, it was taking me longer than I thought it would, and I had an evening engagement, so I decided to go cross-country to get to the waterfall quicker. I came up to a very long escarpment of rock, about 25 feet high, so I started climbing easily to the top. Using both hands, I pulled myself up to the lip...and found myself face-to-face with an irritated diamondback rattlesnake. It was one foot away, coiled up and rattling. All I had time to do was say "Jesus". The next thing I knew, I was back at the bottom with no memory of how I got there.

Still haven't told the wife.

That & the cannon round whizzing past your melon.

Better hope that the Wife doesn't get access to the NSA's Web-Postings Database.

Or better hope she doesn't google rattle snakes and clicks on a link to RC.

I can't say where but I do recall the gospels telling of an incident where Jesus appeared suddenly on the other side of the sea of Galilee. It seems the good Lord has a site to site transporter.

I think thats why some of us love sci-fi its our curiosity to figure out how to do miraculaous things.

When I was attending CoG in the late '80s. In our house we kept hearing what sounded like footsteps up and down our stairs at night. Flashes of movement of "beings" in the hallways while we were in bed. My sister felt movement up and down her leg. We requested our pastor and some leaders came and prayed in all the rooms of the house. The occurrences ended.

Chris has told me some interesting stories he experienced as well.

Miracles I've Seen Empty Re: Miracles I've Seen

Post by ccm2361 January 17th 2014, 11:53 pm

in October 2012 our church hosted a Revival service over a weekend. During one of those services, a friend of one of our members visited. She brought her 5 year old son along. One of his legs was shorter than the other & all he could do was limp along.
As one of the visiting Pastors was praying for him, his short leg grew 3-4"s! That boy RAN up the aisle & out to the front door & then back to the altar. He had never been able to run before. He ran back & forth for 30 minutes with such a grin on his face.

amazing

On your way to the site the 2nd time around did you hear or see rattler?  Did you go a different route?

I recall once my dad had a headache and I offered to pray for him. I was in elementary school at the time. His pain was gone

Stayed on the trail.

Back in the mid-80's, I was having back problems. Seemed like every month, upper back muscles would seize up in a cramp and stay that way for 7-10 days. Very painful, so much that it even hurt to breathe. I was given muscle-relaxing pills to help. I would take one with no effect, so I'd pop two of them, get dizzy for a couple of seconds, and still no relief. I went through this for a few years.

One day, after several hours on the harbor, I was securing my tug's wheelhouse. I pulled one of the windows up and my back seized up. "Jesus", I pleaded. My back instantly loosened up, and I've never had that problem again.

Have faith and claim His promises. I wasn't there 4 decades ago, but my future wife was present at her future sister-in-law's healing. She also had one leg considerably shorter than the other. Got prayed for in church, got healed on the spot and ran around with joy. Went home that night and told her mother what had happened. Unfortunately, her mother wasn't pleased and spent the rest of the night yelling that it was all fake. The girl chose to believe her mother, and lost her healing. Been limping badly for the last 40 years. I hope her mother repented of it before she passed on.
