2016 FCF
I am laid up for a few days, so while I am off my feet I decided to keep my mind busy so I am actually sitting down and listening to the audio files of Lead 2016. There are a few updates on a few things so I will endeavor to post those updated on this site, where they best are suited (proper threads, etc.)
2016 FCF
2016 FCF material
There hasn’t been as many changes as I would say adjustments. In response to the diminished size of the FCF Handbook, workbooks for all 3 levels have been written and are available for free download at the FCF National site. There are no changes as far as advancement trail or merits officially required, however, the workbooks do advise Rangers be familiar with the skill sets previously listed in the Trail of the Grizzly, and even refers to those merits by name, encouraging Rangers to earn them.
I know not as far as we would have liked, but at least moving in the right direction.
The biggest revision is in the sponsorship. They are now trying to move in a direction more of mentorship. There is actually a fair bit of bible verses and study included in all three workbooks.
The biggest change is in the Trappers Brigade. They still have hours required throughout 4 different service areas but have reduced them.
Outpost- 15 hours
Church- 15 hours
Community- 5 hours
Missions- 5 hours
Additionally, where mission hours were formerly restricted to RRI, Pathfinder Missions, BGMC Master’s Toolbox, and Speed the Light. Effective 2016, ANY AG Mission is acceptable.
Also the Wilderness Experience has been opened to be completed by the Chapter not just Region.

Re: 2016 FCF
That last item of them changing the missions to open ended missions fixed it. The hours being reduced will help but the main thing was the missions problem. We didn't have a single Trappers Brigade advancement in our Chapter last year.
Reminds me I need to update the Trappers Form in Rangerdatabase.
Over all it's good changes. I love good changes. I disdane change for the sake of change. Yet I love it when it fixes a wrong change. GRIN!
