Devotion Book Project Empty Devotion Book Project

Post by joecool October 14th 2018, 3:07 pm

There I was this morning, inwardly complaining how impossible it was to find a "legacy" piece of recreational property that I could pass down to my boys and grandkids. On top of that, what if they later moved too far away to enjoy it? And then the Lord took my thoughts in a different direction. I know there are some old-timers here that remember having to write an original devotion as part of an LTC class. My younger me found that incredibly difficult, but my older me seems able to find a meaning in most every situation.

So I'm going to write a daily devotional book for them, titled "From Sea Level to Mountaintop." I've got plenty of sea stories and Ranger experiences to fill it with.

Sounds good. That's something that will stand the test of time.

Devotion Book Project Empty Re: Devotion Book Project

I spoke to a group of scouts a message concerning the lost souls. It was based on the parable of the lost coin. I switched it to the parable of the lost knife. I know Revelations 22 talks about adding or removing things in the Bible, but I think the point got across to the boys.

I have also thought of doing the same thing for scouts. There is a devotional out there in print, but it has sources other than what is from the Bible, so I read it over and alter to what the Bible states.

Let us know how it is going. I would like to read what your thoughts are.
