Re: October Thread
Praise the Lord. We had a outstanding backpack and day hike this past weekend. 2 nights and a 15 miler with 13 going. It was a very, very cool backpacking. This is the roughest trail we go on and it's 2200 feet down to 1000 feet is less than a 1.5 miles. Bolders and caves and trees. Wooo whoo Rangers. Wow!
Pictures are report to follow.

I want to be very careful how I ask this of our Canadian brothers...but in light of your new PM's declaration to recall fighter jets from the Middle East, is this what you want? Are Trudeau's policies going to be similar to Obama's?

I went to a Smith & Wesson Armorer's Course in Superior, Wisconsin in the 1980's. There was a Police Officer there from Winsor Ontario. Nice guy; slightly brash & outspoken; kind-of like a Chief Petty Officer six months from retirement.
He said, "What we (Canadians) do is to look at how you do things in America. If you pass a law that completely screws things up, we adopt it. If you pass something that makes sense, we ignore it."

Sounds like how CA, MD, and NY operate.

Re: October Thread
Studying about mountains with my grand-daughter, I mentioned Half Dome and how people in wingsuits jump off. She was curious, so I found a nice video online for her to watch.
So, Claymore, do they intrigue you? Would you have tried it in your younger years if they were around? Or was jumping from heights just a job?

Mr. Trudeau is going to take us from a good place on the world stage to being insignificant. He will not stand up and put troops where troops should be, as in the fighter jets in the middle east. I don't know much about Obama's policies but I am glad that I have my faith in God because we are in for a rough ride in Canada for at least the next 3 years.

Well Said!
It seems that, often, Armed Forces Veterans have a better understanding of having had a bit of "skin in the game".

Unknown.
Back in the mid-1970's, when we had a few weeks without jumping, one of our members of the Parachute Club put his Rig on, climbed the South Fort Hood Water Tower, hand-deployed his parachute and jumped off. He said that he was going through withdrawals for a jump.
At/about that time (also at Fort Hood), I got a "Parasail", put on the harness, and hooked a rope to the back bumper of my friend's M.G. Convertible. It was on a gravel road (also on South Fort Hood [do we see a pattern here, kids?]), I caught a side-wind; it knocked me over sideways being pulled behind a moving car, and I got a nasty case of bleeding gravel-rash on my hands & arms.
So I guess that more than a few of us have our armatures wound a little too tight.
(And lately, I have been going to the Doctor for treatment for Arthritis & worn out/abused joints. I wonder how all that happened?)

What a shame for both of our countries. Why is it that the electorate allows itself to swing from left to right and back again, ad nauseam? But then again, you already explained it well. We don't allow God to be part of the process.

Been a busy week.
With harvest in full swing, my last 6 weeks have been pretty crazy at work
(I deliver food-all kinds, but a lot of produce & meat)
It should start to wind down here soon

Our Youth pastor had a great idea this past week. He produced postcards for adults and colouring sheets for kids that we as a church are going to send to Mr. Trudeau to say that we support him as our leader and will hold him up in prayer as he leads our country. And because our youth pastor knows someone who knows someone we are thinking that we can actually get these cards/drawings into his hands.

Anyone watch the lower level republican debate? Lindsey Graham is a buffoon. Bobby Jindal did well IMO. Would like to see him in the upper teir of the candidate debates.

Re: October Thread
I have followed the party debates. I usually get interested in the general election debates after "They" decide which two we have choice to pick in Nov 2016.

Re: October Thread
Watched the main debate in its entirety. Trump underwhelmed. Can't stand Kasich. Jeb! needs to go away very soon. Rubio, Cruz, and Fiorina did very well. The main 3 moderators were liberal hacks who gave themselves away by attempting to debate the candidates themselves.
On a related note, extremely disappointed (though not surprised) at Boehner's fiscal cave-in to everything Obama wants for the next two years. The sequester caps are gone, spending is up, and there's no debt ceiling limitation at all. That boy's got a bright future as a piñata.

When I came home from Church, I had a Voicemail from Fox News stating that they were going to make a slot for another analyst, and asked if I had any ideas.
I recommended you.
(I think that you would start by occasionally subbing for Charles Krauthammer.)

I'm not quite as polished as he. Instead of his shiny hammer, I'd use a very rough club.

I very much appreciate Dr. Carson's contributions in many areas. I bought two of his books to learn more about him. I would vote for him in the general election, but I think Hillary would eat his lunch in the debates. On the other hand, Cruz stands at the wall and is a giant-slayer. More than that, he leaves the village and seeks giants to slay.

Re: October Thread
I really like Cruz. I think he picked up some momentum last night IMO. Those who actually pay attention have known what he's about all along, but he didn't seem able to "connect" with the people. I think he connected in a Brett big way last night. The drudge poll shows a big jump in his numbers this morning.
