I suppose only confederate states are southern?
Wow, ever since we moved to RC2.0 Philip has become quite the outspoken rr1.0 supporter and general rebel-rouser! I like it!
I do have a quip for you: if southerners are supposedly tougher than those from the northern or border states how come you let the Feds beat you

I'll have to take my joking gloves off for this one...
It was shear numbers. The South was winning the war for the first few years, but then something happened that made Northerners sign up in droves and simply overwhelmed the Southern forces. Care to guess what it was??? They finally made slavery illegal in Washington DC in 1863... When they made the war about a civil agenda people were willing to come and fight like never before. They weren't willing to leave their homes for a fight about States vs Federal government.
No, the war was not started over slavery. How could it when it was still legal in some parts of the North a full two years into the war. Forget what the public screwl system has fed you. Look back at public records and see for yourself. Slavery was the golden egg to build support for a losing situation for the North.
And as always. History is written by the victors... Government propaganda has been around for a loooong time.

I think the forum change is just a coincidence. The deeper I get into RR and the workings of it, the more I realize that the ideas I see would work are inline with Johnnie Barnes.

FIGHT NIGHT!!!
Another good night of fencing. Had 6 Rangers 4DR 1AR 1ER
First injury of the fencing season. (one of only 2 injuries in the last 3 years of doing this)
our ER decided to try & be slick & go for a baseball type slide & attack to score a point. It was raining out, so we were inside....on carpeting
worst rug burn I have EVER seen He lost a lot of skin on his left leg. 4" diameter circle plus another smaller one on his foot.
Hopefully a lesson was learned

Re: May thread
Philip,
Now you're getting a clearer picture of what most of us old timers in Royal Rangers have been talking about. Tried and true program was patterned from scouting methods that had been proven for 50 years prior.
Tonight determined who needs to borrow a utility shirt, sent a few shirts to the seamstress, handed out flyers for parade, and got the shooting camp-out packets out too.

Re: May thread
I hear ya Dan! When I first started gathering info about the program last summer I was told that they had to revamp the program to stay relevant with modern culture. They said that every company needs to reinvent itself about every 50 years. Seems like JC Penny's just tried that too recently. It failed miserably for them and they ended up apologizing to their lost customers and re-hired the CEO that they'd let go in order to reinvent themselves.
Hopefully someone will realize that the Johnnie Barnes method did work and will take us back to it...

Wow, you amaze me Philip. You learned a lot very quickly. I guess southerners are smart, despite the accent... j/k.
Seriously, Barnes way was tried and true. We've become so diluted spiritually and mentally in Royal Rangers its a shame Doug didn't just rename it altogether.

Re: May thread
I saw Star Trek Into Darkness last night in imax 3D. It was a remake of ST:II The Wrath of Khan with some interesting twists. Before it started they had a trailer for World War Z. Showed us at war with Russia and our constitution being carried out of the nat'l archives. Interesting how movies maybe prepping us for future events.

If Southerners are so dumb, how come you don't hear of anyone retiring from Mississippi and moving to Ohio?

Re: May thread
Yeah, that's unfortunate... It's also aggravating that RR has moved away from a scouting program. I'm sure that there will be a lot of families looking for an alternative for their boys now. Kids that are in BSA don't want to switch to a watered down scouting/ sports/ computer/ Sunday school styled program. They want a SCOUTING program with a Biblical foundation.
Well we're doing our best to give them that here in this area...

Re: May thread
I was told via txt by my sister. I think most outpost are doing outdoors or mix of it. If scouters come in and want to do scouting maybe that'll drive us back to scouting more. Matter of time before gay leaders are let in. You compromise with the devil give him an inch he'll take a mile.
