Another month, another thread. Praying that the approaching hurricane quickly loses its punch. For those of you with kids still at home (not the millennial basement dwellers kind), I pray that they have settled in and gotten a quick start in school. And I hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend!

Holidays would be nice if my carrier would preplan me through them before ditching the office. Just 33 days left to freedom and not have to pay back school.

Semi-Related...

I was just talking with someone at Church, this past week. I said that we allow too many of our own creations to get in the way of seeing God's Creation.

Best example is that it seems a whole lot easier for us to sense and appreciate God when we are walking in a forest or alongside a stream than when we are in the middle of a large city.

For some ppl they equate camping or getting back to nature with being homeless lol!

I forget which California city's council did it, but in order to protect homeless tent cities, they re-designated them as "curbside communities." No one can touch them now, no matter how badly they affect the businesses they're camped out in front of.

Probably San Francisco they have piles of human feces in the street and needles.

Just back from a long mid-West family reunion. The small talk, the heat, the humidity...oh, the humanity. On the last day with a group, driving back from a catfish feed, the driver took an unexpected turn down a long gravel road. I felt that I was about to crack. More small talk in a small farmhouse on a small farm.

And then more people arrived. And for the next two hours, we were treated to live, old-school country music. A nice treat, indeed.

One other mid-West treat I forgot to mention. For most of you it won't seem like a big deal, but I had my first Chick-Fil-A sandwich. The hype is richly deserved. Wish we had a franchise within a few hours' driving. I'd make the trip on a regular basis.

Oh, my. Three years ago, Springfield recognized 7 official outposts in Montana. I checked yesterday, and there are zero. When I went to this summer's pow-wow, I counted 5 groups of campers. I guess they're all under-the-radar, or in other words, unchartered.

Pretty soon, my district will open up our campground to Missionettes. Wait, they already did that.

I was raised on a Dairy & Beef Farm, so I am not a chicken kind-of guy.

That being said, if it is around lunch time, and we happen to drive past a Chick-Fil-A, we pull in. They make a good chicken sandwich & fries, but more importantly, you can tell that it is a business based on Christian Values.

The music is uplifting, but not pushy. The staff is polite and indicate that they want to do their best for you. And even the customers (unless there is someone trying to make a statement) are smiling and friendly.

It's not the cheapest fast-food in Town, but 3 people can walk out with a sandwich, fries, & drink for under 20 bucks.

(Oh, also.... it is a big Poke in the Eye to the Leftists.)

4" of snow and still falling. I can take this in September, a whole lot better than a foot of rain, like in Texas.
