July Greetings 2015
We are a lil late starting July thread but here's our first post.
On the way to another Walmart to work split shift with my store for overtime my fuse box above my 12v battery caught fire and smoke seeped into my fwd compartment via the turn wiper blade controls and steering column! I got out and checked under hood and went back to driver's side and smoke was building up. I ordered all hands to life pods (just me) and got my valuables out. Five mins later the entire car was a bonfire! Called 911. EMS, fire, and a State Hwy Patrolman came out. I had just bought the ak-47 yesterday and in my rush around to two jobs hadn't brought it into the house. There was some issues with the patrolman not being up to date on current Ohio transport regs alllowing fully loaded mags to be stored in same case as the gun as long as they are in separate compartments which they were. Another Statey clarified it for him and I avoided a charge of mistransporting a weapon. Got cited for expired tags oops but no citation for the incident as it wasn't an accident.

He's definitely an overachiever!
I guess I've been absent longer than I had realized. Dan texted me the other day to see if I was alright! Well to give an update, we haven't been doing any racing the last month or so. Got slow with the business and had to pull back... Oh well...
So since I'm around the house more instead of burning up the roads, I'm working steady on the property. Been clearing brush and thinning the woods, leaving just the larger trees, or ones that I want to get larger. Need to put up some fencing for pastures and build a barn. Hopefully we'll be able to get some livestock soon. Looking at miniature cattle because their feed conversion is better than full sized cattle, and when you butcher one you can fit all the meat in a chest freezer as compared to a full size cow. They seem to be gaining popularity with mini farms trying to become self sustaining. So we'll see how that goes.
Baseball season is finally over! Seth ended up making the Allstars team, but they didn't make it past sub-regionals. That was a doubled edged sword for sure! Hated to see them lose out, but baseball almost everyday (between practices and games) since earlier this spring was getting old!

Looking out my window at the fresh mountain snow. Gotta love the Rockies in July (not the baseball team).

Re: July Greetings 2015
New, or just new to you? Now's your chance to get a BOV set up. Get something no earlier than the late 70's or early 80's. Just make sure it's free of a "brain". Also, no electric windows either and make sure if it is automatic that the gear shifts are determined by vacuum pressure instead of any electronic signal.
Just a thought......
