What Are Your Summer Meeting Activities?

We start Rangers at 7:00 PM, so meetings during the Summer give us Daylight and Warmer Weather.

During the Winter, our Activity Time is conducted in the Ranger Room or the Church Gym.

So...

What special Outdoor things do you folks do during the Summer, that you cannot do in the Winter months?  Here are a few of ours:

Horse Shoes (shorter than Official Course)

Croquet

Model Rocket Launch

Compass Course

Pugil Sticks (which we can do in the Fellowship Hall, but Outside seems more fun)

Working on getting a Target for Knife & Hawk Throw

For my outpost we are going to have double P!
1. Pow Wow

Fencing (homegrown-with padded PVC swords)
Fire building
Hiking
Archery

Knife & Hawk
Archery
All BB Gun shooting

wildlife
Nature Study

Ranger Lake Day
Swimming / Fishing / Canoeing

Shelters / wilderness survival (usually Fall)

I like to do Knife and Hawk fcf style. Build lots of fires. Get them out for a compass refresher and then do a orenteering course around a few city blocks.

Love building stuff for Pow Wow and events. The best meetings are the ones we are getting ready to go and do something and preparing for it in the meeting.

We will build cardboard boats as well. Its nice when it's so hot outside to do it in the aircondidtioning..GRIN!
