What's the game with the bucket?

Re: June Greetings 2014
It was called "Reactor Leak." Bucket was filled to a line with water (known quantity). The boys (team of 4) had to remain behind a line. when the commander opened the upper water valve (just below bucket), he said 'go' and started the stopwatch. the boys then ran to the pole. The pole had about 20 small holes drilled into it. the boys had to plug them up any way they could to prevent water from leaking out. after 1 minute he drained the remaining water into another bucket (with lower valve) and weighed it. Teams won by having most weight (most water left after 1 min.).
It was a favorite, especially because it was a hot day!
I'll see if i have any other pics showing the valves.

Cool Thanks for sharing the pics and the cool bucket event. I haven't seen that one before. Will have to get that going around here. When it's hot water and fun is always a good event.

Quit reading it years ago. Too much advertising and too little quality articles. The Christian mini-mag Guideposts isn't what it used to be, either. Spiritually dumbed down to appeal to a broader audience.

Bummer. Tony Gwynn passed away this weekend. All you guys that chew tobacco out there, stop it! Played his entire 20-year career with the Padres, passing up lucrative offers in order to stay in San Diego. 15-time All Star, with 9 batting titles. Real nice guy. My boys have several autographs from him.

Unusual for players to not go where the $ or the Ring leade you.

Re: June Greetings 2014
Started pouring after 6pm when I went out to do Shopkicks. The badlands... (open farmland) between Oberlin and Amherst were bad with winds whipping hard and rain coming down in buckets. I pulled over for a bit at the golf course till it settled down. I couldn't see but 3 parsecs... ahead of me with wipers flying faster than a Denobulan bat...

Re: June Greetings 2014
Just got home after taking 13 boys to Pow Wow. Afternoon thunderstorms as usual. No bears this time, but still had hungry critters to feed. The new guy had a good time. It cemented his decision to keep Rangers around.

Great report. Camping if we can get them to go brings those folks around. Our Childrens Pastor goes with us to Pow Wow. He comes home with thanfulness and the light for Rangers gets brighter. Did you get any pictures?

Played dominoes with my wife and others yesterday. She won 10 straight games. With the number of people playing, the odds were 1 in 177,147. Yowzir!

Re: June Greetings 2014
getting better
we replaced some shingles, but got tied down a bit fixing old fixes.
Someone did some sloppy roof repairs years ago. Rather than tear up the shingles in the offending section & replace them, they just tacked more shingles down over that spot. so we had to tear off the fixes AND the bad shingles under them & replace it all. We have a couple more spots to do.

YEARS ago, I was a commercial Brickmason.
There was a big sign that you saw, when you came onto a job site that I was working at,
It said,
"Why is there never enough time to do it right, but always enough time to do it over?"

Re: June Greetings 2014
Amen, someone should tell Walmart management that. Instead of paying overnight to stock, bin, and pick properly they'd rather tell me to "fixit" everyday instead of following up with those making it a mess. In the end they pay me and the overnight associate $21+/hr to do the same task. If they did it right the first time at $8/hr I could be paid to manage, audit, merchandise my depts, and get my side counters full. Upside I have a temporary for 6 weeks and he goes back to college.
