No. The joys of running a company. I don't HAVE TO provide anything for them, but you get what you pay for. I don't provide health insurance, so I at least provide what benefits I can. Out of town expenses are usually covered by the employer unless they're just sorry...RRCmdrBennett wrote:Nice I guess you guys split the rent?

Yeah, I just saw that on the book of faces, but I didn't read the story. What was the reason given for letting him go?

Re: February Greetings
Here's a little irony.
I read the (short) article linked above, so I was going to get some of his recent antics.
I put a search in the Google Box and was typing in "Piers Morgan Gun Control".
The Google Box offered me an "autocorrect" subject to search for "Pierced Primers". (I guess that I searched that subject recently.)

Re: February Greetings
Philip, article says Piers ratings are tanking which is no surprise. He's a whiny redcoat that thinks he knows how to run America. He's definitely no Larry King. CNN and these news outlets should know people hated his polarized views, his methods of shouting over, making up fakes stats, and just outright lies. Sounds like the Communist News Network will give Piers a lower position.

With only a weeks advanced noticed I couldn't ask for time off. If it had been last Sunday then yes I'd been there. I saw on the fb group page that there was no police interaction. Some cruisers passed by them on Broadway and of course by City Hall. All feedback from public was positive with a few open mouths gaping in shock here and there but overall very successful demonstration and education for the general public.
I would love to see the reaction of my local Liberal Arts College of Oberlin City if they did a walk here...

Re: February Greetings
Progressives have always been willing to fight for what they want, subtly or otherwise, while traditionalists have... traditionally been peacemakers. That's of course why we're where we are now. We've given in time and time again every time our freedoms came under attack so we could preserve peace.
Of course everyone has their limit. I just can't see the progressives laying down on this longer than it takes them to mount an attack. So if we're to the point of standing up instead of taking it laying down, I fear that the powder keg is simply being prepared for a great explosion in the future... Not saying we shouldn't start standing up, but just making an observation.

Re: February Greetings
It was a long day yesterday from 12:30 to 8:pm Ranger Derby Racing.
We had a good turnout and lots of fun.
I had a start switch go out in the middle of the race for the kids and then some software glitches in the adult races.
A good quality event for the church with a nice Rib dinner as well.
COA this wednesday night.
It was a lot of work but worth every moment.

Re: February Greetings
Phew. That was hard. Created 62 Power Point screens complete with boys picture and merits and awards and advancements. All in 15 minutes. Woosh!
Lots of fun. It's funny...I have to relearn how to do it each time. It's 4 months apart and I look at it like a new fence post. Then bam... the light comes on.. I made notes in the Rangerdatabase so it reminds me of how to do it. GRIN! I call that prepping for sure.

Re: February Greetings
When that momentary switch died in the middle of the race it owned me for about 30 minutes. Then one of the younger commanders was talking to the District Director and he said he had to call the maker of the track hardware one time in the middle of the race... well the younger commander called him had him on the phone handed it to me and after a few minutes I removed the "ready" button out of the loop and all was well.
After the race and just before the adult racing started took a trip to Radio Shack for a new Heavy duty switch and got it installed makeshift.
Will work on the track and update the software to the lastest version. I laid awake last night after the event couldn't sleep thinking of what needed to be done to get it fixed up. When your on the spot infront of 500 people it get's really fun! STRESS OUT!

Re: February Greetings
Had my first day on the new job today
I think I am going to like this company. They actually fix issues with their trucks as soon as it is noticed , rather than waiting until it fails (like my previous employer)
Worked with another driver today, who happens to be from my town & is a Christian to boot
only downside is they do not allow employees to carry firearms (I will be working in Detroit some days )
really cold wind blowing today

Re: February Greetings
Just got done plowing for the third time in the last 36 hours. The most we've seen in the last 10 years plus. The Rockies' continental divide is about 10 miles west of here, so we're on the "dry side" (I have prickly pear cactus on my land). Very unusual to see this much snow here.

Re: February Greetings
Yes. I believe strongly to practice what I preach. IF my faith is in something so will my resources. Bible calls it judging the fruit. In that one can find where someone's heart is wrapped around.
I am not so much into the pomp and circumstance of giving out awards and accalaides and handing out crowns and such. Yet I have streamlined that process so I don't waste a lot of time doing it. GRIN! It's funny... I do it well but feel it's a very self centered and not so sure it's right to be teaching "look at me and my big self" But hey it's in our nature to give respect where respect is due. So accolade on!
64 boys with their pictures and their awards up on the big screen... Parents like it.

Give honor to whom honor is due...
One can take those honors too far but its no reason to ban them altogether. Even in the first several chapters it speaks of rewards for our service and perseverance. Its good to get words of encouragement and attaboy from time to time. In everything we give God the glory then I don't see its a problem.
Philip, Gore invented the internet so by extension he is the inventor of rangerchat...

I agree a good balance is important. A good leader knows when to say good job and well done.
It's fun to tell a boy hey you nailed it. Good job. I had AR boys building their own cars this year. Some did a great job and some well... they got accalades as well. GRIN!
