No its not a joke 
A local women named Merry Y. Christmas passed away this week.
When I saw the death announcement I thought it had to be some kind of joke. But its not.

The saddest part is the actual obituary. Says she was a dispatcher and no services planned. Sounds like another lonely life comes to an end....

Christmas is actually a lastname? What did the "Y" stand for?
At first I thought this might be a rant on saying, "merry christmas" vs "happy holidays" or "xmas". I get so tired of hearing that trivial rant.
When I die I've already stated I don't care what you do wth my body: bury me, cremate me, or donate me to science. I'd prefer cremation or donation as I don't want to be a burden in death.
