Mark, my wife goes to her family's reunion in Mexico, MO every summer. Me, not so often. In June, I pronounce your state as Misery.

I prefer the heat. I'd rather sweat than shiver any day. In fact if it wasn't for my family, friends, church, and work, I'd move to a tropical location.

Heat is a comfort issue, whereas cold can become a health issue very quickly!

They told us in Cold Weather Survival Training that:

In Tropical, Subtropical, & Warm Temperate Climates, a soldier can spend about 20% of his awake time on survival & comforts (food preperation, hygene, shelter prep, etc.) and being Fit to Fight for the other 80%.

In Arctic or hard Winter Conditions, a soldier must spend about 80% of his awake time devoted to survival, hygene, & comforts, and he can be Fit to Fight for 20%.

Bernard, are privately owned firearms permitted to be in your home or must be stored in the club?  Does Singapore have conceal carry?  Are military style weapons banned in your country?

Philip, heat can present its own set of health issues too. Heat exhaustion, dehydration, and heat stroke to nam a few.  If you're properly attired cold is no problem for me.

Mark, I imagine high on a pole there is nothing to break the full force of the wind.

Claymore, that sounds right to me. Imagine George Washington's army at Valley Forge. I believe God created earth with a global climate like a balmy tropical island.

The Bible says that "God walked with Adam in the cool of the evening".

I don't think that it was referring to Camp Ripley, Minnesota "cool".

Arizona has what's called "dry heat". With low humidity, temps over 100 aren't so bad. In Montana, we have "dry cold". Shoveling snow at -30 one day wasn't so bad. The whole mid-US, including Minnesota, has higher humidity. Enjoy your winter, guys.

Because down here in the garden of eden part deux, aka South Carolina, that's the most pleasant time of the day during our warm months. It's only when the evil comes from the north to remind us to stay close to God that it's not comfortable in the evenings. Smile

Had a pretty good meeting tonight. Two of my three older boys were there and we had a good time in both Bible and Skill merit time.

Our numbers have been a little funky lately. We're right around a year in, so I guess it's time to evaluate to see what's working with our kids and not working.

Your numbers might be funky due to your new look (avatar)...

Philip, if all your weather is so "godly" explain hurricanes... Haha!

Funny thing is my lil niece is 20 months old and she was excited to see and hear thunder and lightning. She was all giggles and smiles. Kept saying, "lights"!

Out of town again... just like every other week! :( At least I'm blessed with work to do. On one hand I'm fine being out of town because I've lived in hotels for nearly 20 years now. On the other, I miss the kids. At least I'm home every weekend.

That's why I have turned down a lot of over the road & regional truck driving jobs.

Of course that's also why I'm still poor Neutral
