Relating to The Trades Empty Relating to The Trades

Post by joecool May 1st 2022, 10:29 am

Sitting in a tire shop for 3 hours yesterday, I had plenty of time to think and wait on the Lord. My question was: How can we get the younger men to see the importance of maturing as a follower of Christ, to the point of being a man of God? Meanwhile, I watched the workers in the shop go to and fro, helping each other and solving problems, and serving their customers.

The Trades. I thought about how people start in the electrical, carpentry and other professions, learning the basics, expanding their knowledge and skills, and then moving on to more complex work. And I saw that the trade levels could correspond to my church's mission statement:

Apprentice Connect With God
Journeyman Connect With Others
Master Connect Others With God

Could this trades model be used to help marginally involved men step it up? Who wouldn't want to be a Master craftsman?
