Archery Elk Hunt in Arizona
I am getting ready to head out of town this Wednesday for an archery Bull Elk hunt here in beautiful Arizona. I drew Unit 9 which is a very nice hunt. If any of you want to, I wouldn't mind the prayers for a successful and safe hunt. Hopefully I'll have some nice pictures to post upon my return!

Asked of my brother-in-law..."How many elk have you brought home?"
"Oh, 9 or 10."
"How many times did you go out?"
"Oh, 900 or 1000."
Stay safe out there.

Re: Archery Elk Hunt in Arizona
Well... It was a 14 day hunt, the weather was warm so the rut hadn't kicked off yet so there was very little bugling going on, the terrain was tough and the trees were thick... Day 8, I was within 110 yards of a little raghorn 3x3 bull in a trophy unit. I followed him for a little bit and he led me straight to a beautiful 5x6 (he was a 5x8 but he broke off two points fighting or scraping trees). 32 yard shot and he was mine! First elk, second successful archery hunt. I will try to get some photos posted. He is a beauty.

Thanks! Did the link to the picture work? I haven't downloaded them to my computer yet, but my sister-in-law posted them to Facebook so I just linked to one of those.

It looks good!
Hunting in shirt-sleeves.
Definitely bigger than the 80-pound Eastern Whitetail Deer that we have here.
(But you are supposed to hand your rifle or bow on the rack, before you take the picture.)

Yeah, I had to take my long sleeves off. It was almost 90! My brother-in-law was taking the pictures and we didn't put my bow there because it was so warm we needed to get him quartered and on ice.
