Re: October 2017 Thread
Well off I go to student teach a Ranger Essentials Class. I have not been involved in that since 2006. Was a Instructor Trainer at that time. Let it all slide.
This year picking it all back up and making it work.
When I left in 2006 we had... 35 on our teaching staff. Today we have 5. We had a dynamite team with a great program in 2004. Here is a group picture of that event.

Leadership is key. From the top down it has to be RIGHT ON to see growth. I am hoping to see that growth once again. That would be WONDERFUL!

Re: October 2017 Thread
Ha.. We will set up a 10 x 10 canopy. Put a fire pit on the driveway a few feet away from the canopy. Have a wooden table with a bow of candy on it under the canopy. Big 5 foot spider drops down from the canopy over the candy dish...all the while we sit and fellowship eat chllie and crackers and snacks and talk with all the neighbors and their kids as they pass by. When I first got saved I handed out little scrolls inviting them to church along with the candy.
I was thinking ... a small scroll this year advertising Royal Rangers to these folks...what a opportunity to even refocus it even more and hand out a invite!
We are given so much to work with. Look at it and see if you can make it count for Christ and his Kingdom. I know that is what I do for the pagan holiday of Christmas and Easter. Make it stand for something I believe in. That's what the early church did.
Laughter is good for the soul. Lighten your load and point them all to Jesus!
Mark Jones, I may dress up as a Mountain Man tonight...FCF Gear on!

Prayers to NYC, hit by another Islamic attack today. The news outlets are calling the suspect a "lone wolf." That's the media, trying to frame the story how they want, through language. I prefer to label the suspect as an "undocumented terrorist."

Yes, it was Reformation day and that's something to celebrate. I know Christmas and Easter are a mixed bag of opinions on where the traditions come from, BUT most everyone understands that those holidays are about Jesus at the core. You don't have satanists looking forward all year towards those holidays like they do Halloween. You don't have everyone dressing up like death or hoochie-momma witches with their lady parts exposed as much as possible.
It's just a nasty "holiday"...
