Checked everything inside and out. Not a whiff anywhere. And I changed the batteries 3 months ago. I sometimes start "smoking'" when reading the news, but I was asleep this time.

Not satire...people in Redding, CA were treated following the solar eclipse...for putting sunblock directly on their eyes. clown

Just back from a brutal hike with my son. Checked his trail camera by a wallow he discovered. There were a few elk on the camera. Bow-hunting starts next week for him. I'd like some cold mud for my feet right now.

Watched "The Case for Christ" movie tonight with the family. It's  about how Lee Strobel came to Christ. I thought they did a good job with the movie. It was well made and not cheesy. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something good to watch.

We just had the same movie in the Sanctuary for our Evening Service, tonight.

I thought that it was a good, logical, analytical movie.

The women said that they liked The War Room better.

Go figgur..............

I just got a DVD of Strobel's movie and will show it in installments to one of my classes. I came across his books over a decade ago, and was immediately impressed and blessed. He has kids and teens versions, which I've also used at school and church.

I read The Shack a number of years ago, and found it okay. Anyone watch the movie?

Have not read, nor watched the Shack. My wife read the book and liked it, but I'm resistant to it because of some articles I've read about it that pointed out some theological issues.

Anybody close enough to get some of Harvey's rain? We could use some...worst smoke day this summer.

Here on the Northern Mississippi/Alabama line, it is starting to cloud up. I figure that it will remain overcast for quite a period of time.

It hasn't produced any measurable rainfall here, yet.

Hopefully, you'll just get what you need.

As long as we're talking the Alabama line, do you know of any kids who attended Space Camp in Huntsville? I'm considering taking a grandchild or two there in the future. The older boy loves engineering.

No.

I saw it, when we visited the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville. I would have liked to have sent my older son, but we were young with two boys, and didn't have the spare pocket change to send him.

Oh well. He ended up wearing glasses. The nearest that he came to making astronaut was to be a Crew Chief on a KC-135.

That's a lot closer than 99.99999% of the rest of us. One of my junior officers was desperate to fly the shuttle. He was eventually accepted into flight school and I attended his "wings" ceremony. He was disappointed not to be a fighter pilot, but the shuttle program was winding down, anyway.

Back to teaching today. Supposed to be my last year, but the wife has heard that line before.

Phillip, how's your school doing?

The school is doing well. We've started our 4th year this year. We're still in the sub-twenties in enrollment, but that's still due to the limited facility space. If we can get the space situation solved, we could enroll more students, hire another teacher or two and keep going.

War room was alright. I like Strobel's a lot too. The difference between men and women logic vs emotions. War room was emotional and about a wife.
