Leadership 201 Empty Leadership 201

Post by Phillip Gross July 3rd 2013, 10:09 pm

Going to be doing a combined Leadership 201 with another . I met with the other commander tonight and we divided up everything between him, another of his commanders and me. Neither one of us have a lot of ARs, so by combining we should have a better time.

Any advice from those who've done 201?

The commander from the other outpost called me today and let me known that they'd had a mix up in scheduling, so we would have to reschedule the training. I'm fine with that because one of my AR's wasn't going to be able to attend this coming weekend anyway because of a conflict in his schedule.

I asked the commander if he thought it'd be OK if we opened this up to more outposts in our area who also might be in the same boat of not having many AR/ER's and might want to join in on this 201 training. The material seems that it would be a lot better with a larger group of participants.

We're going to be getting the word out this week to the other outposts, so I hope we can get something together.

I can tell you these work MUCH better with a larger group. Less than 10 & they do not work as well.

In the current system gold leadership merits can be used by DR's for the GEA too. You can combine your DR, AR, and ER for golds.

I don't understand that... In fact, I don't understand the entire advancement system yet. Is there a "RR Advancement System for Dummies" book?

It was a recent change in last year or so that DR can use Reds and Golds for GEA to fix the problem with small DR/AR/ER groups. ER can use golds or sky blue for E3. AR can use reds, golds, and sky blue for GMA. The option of teaming up with other outposts isn't always an option. While its good to come together in Royal Rangers an outpost should be self-sufficient. I never understood the big deal they made that leadership merits can't be taught at section or district levels but suggest outposts team up. A section is more than one outpost. What's the difference?
