Embarking on a new Ministry
During our Sunday night Prayer meetings, there is nothing for kids to do. My kids have played quietly downstairs or outside. Pastor has decided he doesn't want kids playing unsupervised due to potential liability.
So I was left with a choice. Let my kids sit in the lobby & be bored. or....... leave them at home.
Neither of these sounded like a good idea. I was bored at church as a kid..took me 25 years to go back.
Leave them at home while we go to church...It isn't in me
Only other option......start a Sunday night kids Ministry. So that's what I am doing.
Starts tonight.

Re: Embarking on a new Ministry
Something you might consider. Making Rangers a 2 nights a week ministry. There is plenty for them to do and it would make managing it a whole lot easier. You could split it up in just about anyway you wanted..do more merits faster or work on different merits each night.
Something to think on.

funny thing you should say that
I have been thinking about something like that myself
Our 2 Adventure Rangers need a Core merit & a Leadership merit for Bronze Medal & I really don't want our 2 Ranger kids to have to sit through those. Been thinking of running those on Sunday night.
Also I am now on a 3rd ministry (part time), due to our current children's Pastor taking a medical leave & his back up taking over. I am now the back up leader for kids church
