Another Basic Firearms Safety Course Completed
We just finished our (third?) Basic Firearms Safety Course for the boys.
I had invited other outposts from around Alabama and Mississippi, & was going to make it an overnighter in the Fellowship Hall.
But no one responded, so we just did it as a 1-day course with 5 of our boys and the Pastor also attending and participating in the FULL course.
I spent 2 days getting the Fellowship Hall/Range ready; was packing the BB-Guns, Pellet Gun, Chronograph, & Training Aids in the truck at 7:30 this morning; and got home at 8:00 this evening. That's too long of a day for this old Dog-Face.
It looks like we have really gotten a good, well-rounded, intelligent Pastor now. He indicated how much he enjoyed the training & shooting, and remarked about what a great character-builder the Program is.
As the Wedding Steward said to the Bridegroom, "Why did you save the Best for Last?"

If you had started out with the best, it would have all been downhill from there.

All the lackluster experiences prepare us to appreciate the better thing he has for us.
I picked up a new piece this weekend while at the Men of Faith conference in Dayton, OH. MoF is like the Mens Advance I mentioned back in March. They offer shooting activities and give away guns and other mantoys. The piece I bought from a bro in my church is Rock Island Armory 1911 style .45 acp.
The forum cuts off portion of the pics but you get an idea of what it looks like. I've always wanted a 1911.

Re: Another Basic Firearms Safety Course Completed
So we had five Rangers (all age 11 & 12) and our Pastor (age 51) who attended the entire Firearms Safety Course.
After Lunch, I took everyone outside to a large field and had set up a Ballistic Chronograph (which we were going to use to measure the velocity of the BB's and Pellets that we use, but they didn't know that, yet).
I told them that it was a Ballistic Chronograph, and I asked the boys what Chronos meant.
The Pastor said, "Time?"
I said, "Sure, one guy in the class that knows Greek, and he has to show off".

"Chronos Graph/Chronograph" = "Time Measuring Instrument"
