Apologies for delays. Summer was busier for me than I anticipated with family needs.
But finally I've completed what I would consider a Version 1.0 for Junior Leadership Foundations.
More than just interview questions.
I've attached a PowerPoint, manual, and a prep sheet for commanders.

This was inspired by the old JTC, but as I read through it I wanted to update it.
Comment away.

Writing and essays were proven to be a bummer for most boys to much like school. They do that already more than 30 hours a week.

It's been my experience that Leadership is not something we can teach. It's a gift from God. Some have it some don't. WE make major blunders assigning folks into leadership that have no calling to be there.

We can teach policy and program. But leadership is a gifting.

Best thing is to find the gift in you and hone it. Activities have a way of bringing out these skills.

Take them, camping, hiking, floating, backpacking, fishing and more...you will find there gifts along the way. Then point them out to them.

We are so caught up in being politically correct..every person a life long servant leader. GRIN! It's a whooper of a idea..just doesn't pan out.

While in essence I agree there is a built in talent for leadership but often God called those who had no business leading themselves let alone an entire nations. Moses comes to mind. Wasn't taught by his father inlaw to delegate leadership? He took the advice and appointed judges to oversee most common issues the people had. As leaders we all need sharpening, advice, and experience to draw on. I think our military members would agree even a born leader needs to be trained and shaped. Nobody goes from Basic training to Master Sgt.

A small portion requires class time. The majority of leadership is taught by doing it.

Instead of all this Junor Leadership and Life long servant leaders and foo faaarah...that Jesus said won't happen.

What if we got back to RTK boys for Christ using a church boyscout program. Along the way we teach them Faith in Christ (not in our works) and pray and see how God blesses them. its been blessed in the past and it's still as good as the day the Holy Spirit helped Johnny Barnes with it.

So much we could do that is right on with God's Word..we just need to get back to it.
