I looked at the Vatican's official statement and quote a part of it: the Catholic Church "must shy away from resting its pastoral praxis on the fixed nature of certain doctrinal or disciplinary schemes."
That led me to look for the meaning of 'praxis', and here it is: "The praxis is the practical application of theory; focuses on what people do rather than on official institutionalized religious traditions. The praxis model is a way of doing theology that is formed by knowledge at its most intense level. It gives ample room for expression of personal and communal experience. At the same time, it provides exciting new understanding of the scriptural and older theological witness."
Let that sink in for a minute.
So, in other words, God is old-fashioned and just hasn't kept up with the times. It's okay to ignore the Word in order to get in step with all the elite progressives marching towards...eternal damnation. Francis has lately been in poor health. Not much time left to get right with God. Not much time left to issue a correction and keep others from following him over the Gaderene cliff.

Re: Culture Rot
Francis is a Jesuit, and the Jesuits have always been the Shiites of the Catholic Church.
They do not respect tradition, and constantly look for new "enlightened" ways of doing things.
There are a number of Catholic clergy who are attorneys. The vast majority of them are Jesuits.
Marquette University has a law school - - taught by Jesuits.
I actually did research to see if the Jesuits had anything to do with the Spanish Inquisition, but they did not. The Order had just come into being founded at about that time, and was still quite small in numbers.

The Colorado Supreme Court's reinterpretation of what the US Constitution says would be like the Pope reinterpreting what the Bible says. And....

I'm curious if they'll steal another election, or if it will backfire on them. From my perspective the left jumped the shark a long time ago, but this poorly written comedy keeps producing episodes without any sign of cancelation.

"He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need." (Ephesians 4:28)
Yes, the elites will steal again. Their arguments will always lose in the courtyard of open debate. And so they will not work, honestly or otherwise, as they feel that it is beneath them.

How "novel" of them.
In related news, the California legislature sent a bill to the governor's desk, which criminalizes the actions of wrong-thinking parents at school board meetings. Newsome declined to sign it, saying that we don't need to create new crimes. To me, this is a clear indication of his hopes to run for the presidency. I can only hope that enough Americans have enough of a memory to know that the leftists cannot have another 4 years in power.
There must be a radical change in direction. The shoals are directly ahead. And while the ship of state is rusty and poorly crewed, there is still time to avoid having the hull torn asunder. I fear, however, that there are shoals all about us. The only way to chart a safe way out is to give it over to Him.

In an interview this week, Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN) said, "Why in the world would good conservatives vote for crazy stuff like we've been seeing out of Congress?" He goes on to say that members have been compromised by women, drugs and booze, and they've been blackmailed.
You might remember Representative Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), who in March 2022 said that leaders whom he looked up to invited him to an orgy and did cocaine in front of him. He was thrashed and trashed and lost his bid for reelection.
Video was released this week of an aide having sex with another man in a Senate conference room. And it just came out that a similar incident happened in the House of Representatives last year, but was hushed up.
And don't forget that a judge ordered the release of nearly 200 names of individuals tied to Jefferey ("I didn't kill myself") Epstein on or about January 2nd. A lot of guys aren't going to be enjoying the holiday season. Allegedly, 3 names will be blacked out. Allegedly, a president is on the list.
Poorly crewed doesn't begin to describe what's going on in Washington, DC. We should take a page from the environmentalists in wanting to return it to it's original state. Tear it down and let it be a natural swamp. Do what the new president of Argentina is doing...slashing two-thirds of the government. What's left should be spread out across the nation, forced to live and work in the fly-over country that they loathe.

Archbishop Vigano was previously a high-ranking official at the Vatican. He has been in hiding since 2018, when he first became highly critical of the Pope's wayward theology. From time to time, he releases statements, such as the one today. Commenting on the gay blessing "commandment," Vigano called the Pope "a servant of Satan."
The Archbishop needs to come out of the shadows. His Church needs him.

I just think that you should change "Washington D.C." to "First Century Rome", and it will seem normal.

Cleanup on aisle '24!
I just don't have the stamina to do a lot of research, but it sure seems like there's always a lot of needed work whenever a certain political party is finally shown the door. Looking beyond our borders, if they even exist, I've never seen so many international crises all threatening world stability at the same time. So many hot spots. So few people who know what needs to be done. IF we manage to make it to Jan '25 with a new team in place, will it already be too late?

Woke or war?
The military academies are putting more and more emphasis on leftist ideology, instead of war-fighting ability. A three-star general is promoting teen gender surgery as a way to keep the mullahs in check. All of this and so much more is demoralizing the boots on the ground. Readiness is compromised. Over-stretched resources can't cover all the hot spots that have emerged over the last two and a half years. Short-sightedness? Accidental? Or by design? Obama screened and promoted his flag officer ranks for years, and they are now at the top levels of the military. Evil sees that we are weak and confused.
Woke leads to war.

Re: Culture Rot
Is that a draft I feel?
Two generations of American youth have not faced a military draft. The vast majority have been privileged to choose another path in life, with no detours to defend the national security of America. But unless our leaders take another path in 2024, we are likely to see a return to a military draft. America lost its ability to fight two simultaneous major wars a long time ago. And under current leadership, the Armed Forces will become an armed farce in the near future. Our enemies know it and will push hard for what they want.
I served under Presidents Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush. There were highs and lows, but never even close to this low.
Close the door.
Change our dismal leadership as fast as possible.

Any time we have a weak appeaser in the White house, the result is the same.
Joe Biden is a weak appeaser
Barrack Obama was a weak appeaser
Jimmy Carter was a weak appeaser.
What do those 3 presidencies have in common?
Evil sees its chance & the world is on fire
Unsustainable spending levels by the US government
Our economy is trashed & the people suffer
The US is a joke on the world stage.
I believe China will invade Taiwan before the 2024 elections
I believe Iran & all of its proxies will move to invade Israel before the 2024 elections (more than they already have)
We could face an economic crash before the 2024 elections
The central banks are all buying gold by the ton. They know what is coming, but they dont want to admit it for fear of losing thier power.
I hope and pray this this will not come to pass, but I think it is likely that we will see another great depression, coupled with hyper inflation before 2035.
I really hope I am wrong, but if the Democrats/establishment Republicans retain power in 2024, things may be very dark for a long time.

The Cloward-Piven Strategy. Published in 1966 by an activist couple, it is nothing less than bringing societal collapse through orchestrated crisis. It's main end is to cause the fall of capitalism by overloading the gov't with a flood of demands, massive unpayable national debt and unfettered immigration. The four steps are:
- Overload and break the welfare system
- Have chaos ensue
- Take control in the chaos
- Implement socialism and communism through government force.
(The above is from liberal Wikipedia.)
Have we not seen all of this and more in the last 15 years? Didn't Obama promise to fundamentally change America? Anyone remember another prominent Democrat saying, "Never let a good crisis go to waste?" Name a cultural area that conservatives or Christians control. I can't. And because there might not be one, let alone a balance of power, our country will continue to devolve into atheism and anarchy.
Our time in the sun is over. America will soon join other empires in the ash heap of history. Our country took its eyes off the true King, instead choosing to preen itself in the mirror. Sorry to sound negative, but it's actually another step closer to the most positive outcome of all...the Rapture.

Re: Culture Rot
Took a walk in the cold air this morning, listening to a program on a little radio. "Who is this guest?" I thought. He was going on and on about movies he had recently watched, including many that I would never consider. At the bottom of the hour, the program host thanked Kevin McCarthy for being on the show.
Yeah, that guy. Forced out as Speaker of the House, because he lied to members of his party and helped those on the other side of the aisle. In a way, McCarthy was a realist, knowing that he had no true power. The other side, supported by a vast left wing conspiracy, had never really given it up. But he never once pushed back in an attempt to get any of it back. No, that would have required too much effort.
So, just like the flag officers in a previous post, McCarthy was just a Washington General, following the script and losing to the new world order Globetrotters as planned.

Yes they are both Columbia University professors. Frances Fox Piven is know to have met Barrack Obama in New York in the mid 80's & in Chicago in the 90's. Both were involved in the Chicago chapter of the group ACORN
he certainly did his best to implement their strategy.

I'd wish you all a Happy New Year, but I don't think 2024 will end up being that. Take care of you and yours as best you can. Use the Lord's strength and wisdom.

Came across a 121-page compilation of military members' assessment of military readiness. Read a page or two. It will open your eyes.

Kids Say The Darnedest Things. You have to be my age to remember Art Linkletter's TV show. He would be shocked to know what they're saying these days.
Going to my kid's class this morning, they have to walk by the kitchen, which is going through a major remodel. They were all buzzing about it when I said, "You haven't seen anything yet. Wait until you see what Jesus has prepared for us in Heaven." I also added, "And all your questions that adults ignore, Jesus will answer."
A girl who comes as an occasional guest asked me, "Why do Christians hate LGBTQ people? Why do they say they're going to hell?" I kept it at a level for the whole class, but I mostly kept asking questions back at her, hoping the light would go on. In answering my question, "Which is more important, knowing the difference between right and wrong, or choice?" she said, "Choice, it's the most important thing of all."
Had me wondering who had the most influence on her worldview...a teacher or her step-mother? At least she's at church on some Sundays, hearing the truth.

Re: Culture Rot
A couple of days ago, I ran across an article that talked about all the new charter schools that were approved in my state. What?! I missed that one. Did a little research and found out that our GOP-controlled legislature approved them last year. So Montana is no longer on the very short list of states that don't allow charter schools.
Hmm. There were two approved bills. The first one authorizes public school districts to start charter schools. The second bill authorized "community" charter schools that are independent of public school districts. Of course, that one was heavily challenged by the usual special interest groups and is now on hold pending a court's review. (Should I look up the judge's political affiliation? How long will it take for a decision?)
Some politician bragged that charter schools should be able to get through the start-up process in 3-5 years, unlike other states that take up to 10 years. Yeah, sure. Wanna bet the public charter schools will be enrolling students this summer? Parents will flock to them, thinking they're getting the real deal. And on top of that, the "community" bill limits those charter schools to an average of $3000 less per student than a public school gets for theirs. Any hopes for competition are already long gone.
There's not much difference between the two parties. Definitely a lot of difference between liberal and conservative citizens. But Dem and GOP politicians? Not so much. They're both protecting the teacher's union. Stinks to low h---.

Re: Culture Rot
Anybody remember a few years ago when the Texas AG church affirmed the LGBTQ lifestyle, to the point of allowing them into ministry leadership? They also withdrew from the Assemblies. It stayed in the liberal mainstream news cycle for awhile. They absolutely loved it. Not so much news since then.
Did a little digging and found out that the "pastor" left to seek secular employment and his wife took over the pulpit. Yeah, they were suffering big losses, both in membership and finances. Turns out that they shut down the church in Dec of 2022. I'm sure there was chuckling among the demons.
I take no joy in this church having to shut down. But God will not be mocked. I still wonder about their deacons back in 2020. Did they approve of what the pastor did? Did they try to warn him off? Did any resign? Was there a membership vote to withdraw from the Assemblies, or did leadership do it on their own?
Go woke, go broke. And that includes spiritual bankruptcy.
