Your recommendations are a bit tongue-in-cheek, but humor gets us through all the insanity. I've heard some say to protect the church by making all events "for members only", like a private club, but that really wouldn't work. All you need is one activist coming in undercover, whose goal is to attain membership and then start planning events and lawsuits.

What we really need is prayer and close observance to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. And perhaps a little civil disobedience when the time comes...and it will come.  Culture Rot - Page 12 3169784017

Bill of rights predates our constitution and was included in the first ten amendments.

Sorry, the Bill of Rights does not predate the Constitution.

The Declaration of Independence predates the Constitution.

The Articles of Confederation predate the Constitution.

But the Bill of Rights is the first ten amendments to the Constitution.

The Basic Constitution of the United States was composed, but the Representatives of the States wanted more protection from Central Government than what was spelled out in the body of the original text.

And so those ten amendments were written, approved, and attached.

Claymore, my bad I was thinking Bill of Rights was a separate doc. The collective first ten amendments do have their predecessor documents that many were derived from the Virginia Declaration of Rights (June 1776), English Bill of Rights (1689), and the Magna Carta (1215).

Ok its no wonder bad stuff happens when we freely give up our rights.

Philip, I prefer the grace of God over being executed for playing pick up sticks.

I think apostle Paul may disagree with you there. He exercised his rights afforded him by a temporal kingdom he was a citizen of Rome.

One of the top-billed speakers at the RNC convention was the guy who created PayPal. He's a very influential Silicon Valley leader. During his pro-Trump speech, he said that he's a proud gay, Republican American. He also encouraged his listeners to dump the "fake culture war."

Anybody here believe that all the incoming rounds are actually just blanks?

Tim Kaine, the Dem VP candidate, self-describes as a practicing Catholic. At a big gay dinner today, he talked about his evolution as a supporter of LGBTQWRDIHetc, etc rights. He then predicted that Catholic doctrine would soon come around as well.

I hope not. But it's not really Catholic doctrine. It's God's Word. And He will not be mocked. Watch for a renewal of protestors at Kaine's church.

I think that, after all of the lawsuits with awry priests, the Catholic church may be a bit gun-shy of the GLBTQ movement.

(A burned cat won't sit on a cold stove, either.)

A Wash, DC police Sgt publicly went transgender 2 years ago. He/she/ze is a "valuable liaison with the LGBT community", even after it recently became known the Sgt was investigated for showing home-made sex videos to under-age PD interns. The Sgt also took them to a gay bar and helped them purchase alcohol, and laughingly admits to all of it.

You and I know that had the Sgt been straight, he would have been suspended. And after a VERY quick, perfunctory review, would have been fired. No ifs, ands, or butts.

Previously, my liberal city passed a gay rights ordinance. Now the commissioners want to change it to allow people to use whatever gender bathrooms/showers they identify with.

My letter to the newspaper challenged the commissioners to conduct a test run...using their own wives and daughters.

I'm not the only one who predicted the coming slippery slope. When the Supreme Court joined morally-challenged liberals in redefining marriage, I listed a few things that were next. But I never thought this would happen...

A woman in France is demanding the right to marry her robot partner. For years, Christians have been shamed for denying love, whatever form it took. Go ahead and ask your favorite liberal for his stand. A dollar's bet will get you $1.01 that he just shrugs his shoulders and says, "Whatever she wants."

"Danger, Will Robinson, danger!"

Lt. Tasha Yar: What I want now is gentleness. And joy... and love. From you, Data; you are fully functional, aren't you?
Lt. Cmdr. Data: Of course, but...
Lt. Tasha Yar: How fully?
Lt. Cmdr. Data: In every way, of course. I am programed in multiple techniques. A broad variety of pleasuring.
Lt. Tasha Yar: Oh! You jewel, that's exactly what I hoped!

Well, it's a new year. A new year with all the same old battles, including those in the culture war. But even if we can't recover lost territory, I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll at least be able to hold what ground we have left.

It's kind of like the Korean conflict, where the US Army was mopping up, until the communist Chinese swarmed over the border to put all our troops in grave danger. In our case, Washington DC plays the role of the antagonist, putting those in flyover country in danger. But there's a new sheriff in that town who doesn't play to the tune of the land and cattle barons. I will pray for him and his advisors daily.

After more local transgendered news, it occurred to me that this whole bathroom controversy is the real "war on women."

Culture Rot - Page 12 Empty Re: Culture Rot

Post by Claymore January 1st 2017, 4:54 pm

Because today is the first day of 2017, our Pastor preached from 2 Chronicles - 2017:

"2 Chronicles 20:17New International Version (NIV)

17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’”

...............

While he was giving his teaching points that the Lord is in control, something occurred to me. First, there is absolutely NO WAY that anyone could have predicted that the Least Predictable Politically Incorrect Non-Politician could snatch the Bridle and Reins of Power from the The Teeth of Hillary Clinton. The Left-Wing, Washington Beltway Insiders were in Stunned Disbelief.

Going along with that, I can remember losing in 2008 and in 2012. I wasn't happy. It isn't fun to lose. Obama said, "Elections have Consequences", and they started giving Trillions of Dollars to all of their Left-Wing Supporters through the "Stimulus Package" and grabbed onto 1/3 of the National Economy and the Power of Physical Life & Death through the Affordable Care Act without a single Republican Vote.

I just tried to adapt to what happened and what I thought was going to happen. I even sold some of my firearms, because it looked like Obama and Nancy Pelosi were going to make them non-transferable without compensation on my death, and I figured that it was smarter to have that money in my estate.

But look at how the Left reacted to their loss in 2016: Crazed Wild Thrashing, Disbelief, Crying, Screaming, Cursing, Threats, Attempts to Overturn the Election Process (and videos by celebrities on Youtube to support this).

Much of the behavior has seemed Animalistic, (or possibly) even Demonic.

Only God could play Checkers like this.
