Does that gun only come in 22lr, or can you get it chambered for 22mag?

.22LR or .25ACP no .22 mag sorry

I FAR prefer .22 to .25. even though .25 is center fire, its ammo cost 10X more & .22 ammo is actually better when it comes to causing wounds when using better ammo like CCI minimags or Stingers.

The only TRUE advantage of a .25 over a .22 is that, because it is a center-fire cartridge, fail-to-fire is virtually a non-issue in the .25.

If you have fired enough .22's, I'm sure that you've had a couple of FTF's.

One year, when I was with the 84th Division Pistol Team, we were shooting the "NRA 2700" Course. You shoot 3 complete Bulls-Eye competitions at 25 yards (Timed & Rapid Fire) and 50 yards (Slow Fire). You shoot one course with a .22 pistol, one course with a centerfire pistol of .32 cal or larger, and one course using a Model 1911 .45.

We used Ely Match .22 ammunition, but one of the guys said that he would shoot with CCI Mini-Mags. He said that he didn't have to adjust his sight picture, because of the higher velocity.

It wound up that, in the Rapid-Fire Event, he had a Fail-to-Fire with the CCI Mini-Mags. That cost him 10 points, and ruled him out of placing as a finalist.

Now, coming in at 15th Place in a pistol match is bad.

Coming in Second Place in a Gun Fight is worse.

Of course, Eley IS match ammo. I have not and any fail to fires yet, but there is always the chance. Nice thing about Pistols, is you can just pull the trigger again & half the time it will fire.

Remington and Winchester Wildcat .22 ammunition have a bad reputation for misfires.

I read a complain that a person got 1 misfire out of every 20 rounds of Remington .22 ammunition.

You obviously don't want that 1 of 20 to be the round in the chamber of your defense gun.

I love their guns, but don't use Remington .22 ammunition for Critical Purposes.

I have had that problem with Remington's golden bullet line. But not with their Thunderbolt load. We have fired 3 50 round boxes of thunderbolts without 1 fail to fire. Now with the Golden bullet, its 1-3 per box.

I might consider a .22LR pistol for an ankle or pocket backup gun. Say in the event my primary pistol (XDm) is knocked out of my reach I can go for the lil gun.

What do you think of the .380?

You know, I still haven't broken the Kahr in, yet. I was going to let the ladies enjoy putting a few rounds through it, when they have their field day from the class (original date was rain-delayed).

So, right now, I have the Kel-Tec in my pocket.

One thing that I was a bit disappointed with was, when I disassembled and reassembled it, it could be put together with the trigger bar (or disconnector - which runs alongside the frame on the right side) mis-alligned on the outside of the slide. It wouldn't go into functional reassembly like this, but it's not "G.I.-Proof" (AKA "Monkey-Proof").

I carry the Taurus 90 % of the time now. We live in a small town with very little crime. Violent crime is almost unheard of.
If I do go to a bigger town or to Detroit; its the Glock all the way. But here, I usually don't bother.

A .22 will still put a hurting on someone.... More people are killed with .22 than with any other caliber.

I'm sure it is. Simply the law of averages. It would be interesting to see a per capita ratio, but there're just too many factors to ever get a true statistic on caliber to kill ratio.

Besides,

My saying that Christi needs more range time was in response to Chris saying that she almost shot him.

If she almost shot him, then she was obviously not paying enough attention to her front sight.
