Buying the Catacombs...
...or is there better real estate elsewhere?
I do believe in a pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church, which means that born-again Christians will not have to experience the horrible events laid out in the book of Revelation. But I also see our society moving deeper and deeper into a post-Christian morass, which means that it's certainly not going to be a bed of roses going forward.
As persecution against the first century Christians increased, they took to underground catacombs for safety. For many, it was the best they had. As early twenty-first century Christians, we need to stand our ground and fight back against "soft" persecution, before it gets worse. We don't want to find ourselves, through a timid response to the culture, in modern safe spaces designated by the left. I still remember Obama and Hillary Clinton, almost in unison, speaking of freedom of worship, instead of freedom of religion. It was by design. They want to limit us to an hour a week.
Don't waste your resources on less than desirable real estate. Instead of ending up in a premature catacomb, we need to focus on Jesus' words: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you." (John 14:1-2)
