It's good to see a little push-back against anti-Christian cultural rot as of late. Shining a bright light into the dark recesses has a way of scattering cockroaches. You can stomp them and bomb them, but you can never get rid of them for good. Got any cockroaches in your area? Being proactive helps. Keep your part of the world as clean as you can...and pray.

Both of my sons have moved down here from the Milwaukee area.  One lives 50 minutes away, in Florence, Alabama.

About 3 weeks ago, we went to the 150th anniversary of Muscle Shoals, a sister-city of Florence, just across the river.

There was a 3-day celebration, and the final events were on Sunday evening, with a city-sponsored Big Daddy Weave Christian Concert.

Prior to the concert, the mayor came on-stage, spoke of the city's rich history, and then prayed over everyone in attendance, giving thanks for God's blessings, praying for unity, and asking for His continued protection over us.

He then had the preachers from a couple of local black churches & a white church give a sermon, followed by worship from their church, and then Big Daddy Weave came on-stage.

My son said, "You wouldn't see the mayor of Milwaukee doing that...........".

If it weren't for the humidity, I'd move to a city that obviously has it together. Big Daddy played here once, and I was really impressed. He and his band-mates came down to the floor and prayed for whoever wanted to walk up.

Last year, my son's knee was injured when taking down a perp. Walking up the stairs was uncomfortable and he couldn't get down on that knee anymore. I was at his house today when the mail came in and he opened a surprise. He had been evaluated as 6% disabled and enclosed was a sizable workman's compensation check. He didn't even know paperwork had been submitted.

"That's great, son! By the way, has your knee ever gotten better?" He looked at me curiously. "I never told you? It was healed in a church service back in January. Watch this...."

A double blessing.

Happy Father's Day to all of you out there. In the kid's class today, I shared how Jesus and the Holy Spirit have their holidays, but where's the one for God? I had to drop a score of hints before they caught on that we can wish Him a happy Father's Day, too.

We also passed our copies of my culture book to all the men today. I made sure the young non-Dads got one, too. Fore-warned is fore-armed.

7 am and it's 36 degrees outside. My VBS games leader had to take all the water props out of the plan this week. The scourge of global warming.

Promises of transparency from the Biden administration are having a hard time being fulfilled. Instead, we have cover-up after cover-up of their political, legal, and national security failures. In recognition of this, and in order to compensate, a spokesperson has released the following statement:

"We will accelerate the number of transparency opportunities that lead to public nudity, including more on the White House grounds. There will be no cover-ups."

Now, aren't you happier and satisfied?
