Maintaining Numerals for Ribbons
A friend brought me some uniform decorations from an Outpost that is no longer active. It was a nice assortment of Ribbons, Mounting Bars, Awards Vests, etc.
In looking through the plastic tray of Ribbons and Accessories, I saw something that is GENIOUS. They had the numerals for the ribbons stuck into a small block of Styrofoam. They weren't rolling around loose. They were all there and easy to find and identify.
What a marvelous idea! Every time that I would try to update the Boys' Ribbon Bars, I would have to dig through all of the numerals, see what I had in stock, and fish it out. Even if I had the numerals bagged together by type, it was still a fishing expedition. Also, when I would get ready to put an order in to GPH, I had to dig through the numerals, take inventory, list them on a sheet of paper, and see what I was short on.
Now, they can all be on a block of foam, and they can be arranged in rows, you can immediately see how many "1's", "4's", and "7's" you have in stock.
