Covid shots! Commanders Conference were still after it!
Well I have not been sick in a year plus. I get a covid shot and come down with a cold the next day. What a bargin!
We had our So. MO District Commanders Conference last weekend. It was good to see 50 of my favorite folk from around our District once again to meet. Train. Raise Funds. Despite the hardest blow todate to our Royal Ranger Ministry we have persevered to keep on for Jesus. Covid has our charters down by 40%. Our Commanders Conference attendance was down by 50% but I have good news. We are still all about Reaching, Teaching and Keeping Folks for Christ!
Most of the missionaries are having to stay state side and they are also affected by funding decline. So the Bible once again has it right. The devil goes around seeing who he can destroy. Stealing our joy! Killing our ministries. Yet that is what the Bible says will happen. I am thankful we have not thrown in the towel. Reminding the devil he has lost is a good start to every day.
So we were suppose to go backpacking this weekend. 80% chance of rain on Friday and 30% on Saturday high of 47......and amazingly everyone had something else they were doing this weekend so I could take a sick day from retirement and stay home and blow my nose. I was thinking this morning...I could have been.... bushwhacking up a creek in the early morning rain and loving every moment of it....ha. Rest of the folks don't share my perception of a great time!
Anyway. Have a great day Rangers! Our Summer is cooking up some great events fast. We are going to work hard at making Life Long Servant Leaders as well as keep trying to build the Church of Jesus Christ!
Even with snot flowing down my face from this cold. I helped my son pull a brand new bumper off of his Toyota and replace the winch switch buried deep inside it. 2 hours later we were done! 2 weekends ago we spent 4 hours installing this winch and bumper only to find out the winch plug in cord would not release from the front port after we plugged it in once. HA! it worked it just wouldn't turn loose of it. A new socket and we are good to go again. Life is good!

Bless ya, Mark.
We had a couple of guys like you on the Special Forces Team:
They would beat their thumb with a hammer, just because it felt so good, when they stopped.

The wife and I are about to lead children's ministries again. It's been a while since I last wore the uniform, but at least my blood still has a khaki tint to it. Voyagers, my Wed night program next Fall, will use RR and M'nette merits with an overall space theme:"The heavens declare the glory of god." (Psalm 19:1)
Keep fighting for the King until He calls us home. I know people have been saying this for a long time, but I really feel like the end times are just around the corner. It will be nice to "travel" and meet you all...and without needing a COVID passport.

At LEAD I was impressed that National is "PRO" boys and girls programs. I found out that many are running a together type program using RR merits and having a great time of it.
Our Mpact girls often will bake us snacks and bring them up on Wed night for us to eat. We used Dutch ovens last wed night but didn't make enough for all there so we couldn't return the favor but we needed to for sure. We are blessed to have both programs working at this time even in our small church of 200 folk.
I too feel that "The Return of Jesus is close" and long for that day. Yet until then will keep after the mission. It's good stuff we do investing in the lives of our kids and adults that help us do these ministries. I know Jesus is pleased with this type of work.

You are fortunate. The CEO of the company I work for got the shot & promptly got covid 2 days later

2 of our friends at church had the same thing happen but it was not much more than a cold for them. A little fever and sore throat and staying home for 2 weeks.
